Learn more at www.verint.com.\nOverview of Job Function\nThe Senior Software Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the development of platforms and applications. This is a highly skilled hands-on role requiring extensive proficiency involved in all aspects of the development of cloud-based software solutions. Subject to their specialization, this Senior Software Engineer leads the design, development, testing, publishing, and/or support of different cloud-based products and solutions and serves as subject matter expertise for customer implementation and cloud platform support. The Senior Software Engineer works closely with a global team of engineers to build robust solutions that meet our business objectives following continuous integration and continuous deployment processes, while supporting software and associate software engineers. Additionally, this role provides recommendations to management as to process, technologies, or other improvements intended to benefit productivity, efficiency and/or quality of the solutions developed by the team and leads the implementation of new solutions.\nPrincipal Duties and Essential Responsibilities\nOngoing evaluation (test) of feature design - proactively work with others to identify issues or potential risk areas with the architecture and performance\nDistill requirements from feature level into implementation level tasks\nDevelop features using best practices and ensure it fits with the architecture for the product\nEnsure the right work is being done - ensure product qualities such as unit tests, automation, throughput, capacities, security & performance will be sufficient\nEnsure design and implementation work meets the stakeholder’s requirements\nEnsure that the feature design is correct for operations, as well as deployment and sustainability\nSupport departmental and team initiatives\nWork with Team Technical Architect and Lead to define, document, and communicate coherent feature design\nCommunicate relevant risks and issues to Team Lead and other relevant team members inside and/or outside the team\nProvide technical leadership to less experienced members of the team - mentor, coach, continuous improvement\nTake responsibility for technical implementation and decision making including the delivery of features\nIdentify, monitor and resolve feature related issues; escalate if individual resolution is not possible\nReview documentation and guides created by more junior members of the team\nGuide Software Engineers on how to create sufficient, complete documentation and guides that help onboard new people to the team\nEnsure stakeholders understand feature architecture\nMaintain communication with stakeholders and ensure changes to any previously agreed solutions are communicated; understand evolutionary paths\nWork with assigned partners to ensure an effective and productive relationship, both within the product house and the wider regional Verint support organization.\nPrioritize and resolve technical problems and assist others with the same\nEnsure the prioritization of scope (including defects) is understood\nUnderstand the development process and suggest improvements to it\nIdentify areas of technical risk in a feature and options to de-risk\nSupport opportunities to address technical debt as part of a release\nSupport the design process and ensure it complies with product architecture\nSupport planning as regards estimates, dependencies, risk areas, and sequencing tasks\nMinimum Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in computer science / software engineering (or similar) \n5 years' experience in design and programming large scale applications through all phases of the software development life cycle including testing, implementation and auditing\nProven track record of delivery of complex features end-to-end\n2 years experience mentoring mid to entry level engineers and influencing technical direction within a cross-functional squad\nStrong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, JPA/Hibernate)\nSolid understanding of RESTful API design, OAuth 2.0/JWT, and microservices patterns\nStrong working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Oracle) including schema design and query optimization.
