Within Verisk Claims UK, our technology supports the insurance ecosystem, including solutions across Motor, Anti-Fraud, Property, and Personal Injury.\nWe are looking for an Automation Test Engineer to help us strengthen the quality, reliability, and performance of these products.\nThis is more than a test execution role. You will have real ownership of automation, influence how quality is built into the development lifecycle, and work closely with engineering, product, and business colleagues to make sure our software is ready for release.\nOur wider Claims technology environment includes SaaS products used by insurers, suppliers, police forces, and supporting organizations across the UK and internationally, giving engineering teams the opportunity to contribute to software with meaningful reach across the insurance ecosystem.\n#LI-SD2 #LI-Hybrid\nYou will join a collaborative Agile Scrum team, taking ownership of automated testing while helping the team continuously improve how quality is delivered.\nYou will:\nDesign, develop, and maintain automated tests using Cypress.io and BDD practices with Cucumber, while contributing to our migration toward Playwright.\nWork alongside developers, product owners, and business analysts to understand requirements early and build effective test coverage.\nOwn system, regression, and integration testing across multiple environments.\nValidate REST API integrations using tools such as Postman or Insomnia.\nCreate and maintain effective test cases in QMetry, aligned with product requirements and the wider test strategy.\nIdentify, investigate, and track defects through JIRA, partnering with developers to reproduce issues and get to the root of problems.\nDefine appropriate test data and quality benchmarks, while identifying opportunities to improve our automation and testing practices.\nContribute actively to sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and quarterly PI planning.\nSupport release readiness by planning test activity, reviewing release notes, and validating functionality before deployment.\nYou will bring solid hands-on experience in software testing and automation and be comfortable working as part of an Agile engineering team.\nWe are particularly interested in experience with:\nCypress.io or another modern test automation framework.\nBDD frameworks such as Cucumber.\nAPI testing with Postman, Insomnia, or similar tools.\nTest case management using QMetry or equivalent.\nJIRA for defect, task, and sprint management.\nSystem, regression, and integration testing.\nWorking collaboratively with software developers and other technical and business stakeholders.\nJust as importantly, you will be methodical and curious, with strong attention to detail and the confidence to communicate technical issues clearly.\nNice to have:\nJavaScript or SQL knowledge, or experience working within a Java-based environment.\nExposure to Playwright.\nExperience within UK insurance, particularly Motor Claims, Anti-Fraud, Property, or Personal Injury.\nExperience with performance or load testing tools such as JMeter or k6.\nExperience using AI-assisted tools, such as GitHub Copilot, to improve testing or engineering workflows.\nAn ISTQB, ISEB, or other recognized software testing certification.\nExperience developing or working with test strategies in regulated or highly compliant environments.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4160,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United Kingdom","iso":"GB","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Data Providers & Datasets","InsurTech"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-15T15:33:13Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"GB","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Licensed UK visa sponsor (Senior or Specialist Worker, Skilled Worker)","filings_12m":null,"filings_prev_12m":null,"green_card_filings_12m":null,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":"Global Business Mobility: Senior or Specialist Worker;
