Unlike a university assignment, the work is part of a team's ongoing delivery.\nYou are expected to own your tasks, communicate blockers proactively, and behave as a reliable member of the team. \nYou will not always have the answers. Ask questions when something is unclear, and use the guidance you receive.\n\nWe will look at how reliably you complete agreed tasks, how your skills develop, and how you respond to feedback and work with others.\n\nThe Intern Program is not eligible for work visa sponsorship. If you will require work visa sponsorship after completing your degree, you do not meet the basic requirements of the Yea-Long intern role.\n Deliver small, well-defined tickets with support, flagging blockers early and asking for help when stuck\nWrite working, readable TypeScript and/ or C# .NET code, following established team patterns and coding standards with guidance\nWrite unit tests for your own changes, with guidance on what to cover\nParticipate constructively in code reviews, implementing or responding to feedback from peers\nFollow established Git workflows: feature branches, clear commit messages, focused PRs\nBe aware of secure coding basics (no hardcoded credentials, input validation, etc.) and apply them, including when raised in code review\nUnderstand and work within existing SQL Server/PostgreSQL database schemas without making structural changes, and write straightforward queries against them\nBe aware of how the platform is hosted and deployed on Azure and Kubernetes\nBuild an understanding of the insurance policy lifecycle (quote, take up, cancellation, renewal) over the course of the placement\nContribute to legacy code maintenance through small, supervised fixes while building familiarity with system architecture and business logic\nSet up and work effectively in the local development environment, and become familiar with the Ignite codebase\nAttend and contribute to sprint ceremonies, communicating progress and blockers clearly\nFollow documented development processes and escalate when unclear\nActively seek feedback and act on it consistently, including through regular check-ins with your mentor and Tech Lead\nPresent or demo a piece of completed work to the team\n Tech Stack\nYou do not need experience of our specific stack; you will learn it on the job.
