This role collaborates closely with Category Management, Sales, Division Management, and Logistics to align purchasing decisions with customer demand and organizational inventory goals. The Inventory Planner manages approximately $3 million in perpetual inventory, balancing service levels with efficient inventory investment.Job Responsibilities:\n•Maintain input data which drives replenishment triggers from the Material Resource Planning system, including lead time, reorder point, maximum inventory level, reorder quantity, scaled purchase quantities.Determine proper methodology for inventory management by individual material or groups of materials, between reorder point planning and buying to forecast.\nAssist in development of “bottom up” forecast models and liaises with business owners to gain consensus and agreement.\nReview MRP created Purchase Requisitions for appropriateness and releases to be placed on PO and ordered from suppliers.\nEnsure that quantities and suppliers are in support of best practice purchasing.\nSet up new item numbers along with obtaining copies of vendor quotes and set up cost and Bills of Materials in SAP.\nComplete cost audits on a regular basis.\nCollaborate with Quality to manage adherence to customer and regulatory requirements.\nReview inventory levels, assesses current performance, makes recommendations and changes to optimize inventory related to working capital, customer service and strategic initiatives.\nResponsible for metrics related to inventory management which can include turns, GMROII, inventory aging.\nManage the onboarding and sunsetting of materials and material groups for the organization ensuring new products support launch and exiting products are fully disposed of.\nDemonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, improve turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly, to provide quality seamless customer service.\n•Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as requested.\nAdditional Responsibilities & Qualifications:\nExperience with Third Party Subcontractor/Vendor Management •Experience with Quality Management Systems\nExperience in industrial packaging or distribution business is preferred.\nSalary: $54,900 - $75,900 annually\nWork Experience:\n•3-5 years of related job experience.•Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.•Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).•Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.Education:\n•Bachelor's Degree PreferredCorporate\nWhat We Offer\nEngaging and inclusive culture with employee-led Employee Resource Groups, Veritiv Cultural Alliance, recognition platform, etc.\nExtensive training opportunities, professional development programs, career pathing, and mentorship opportunities.\nCollaborative atmosphere with our customers and suppliers to create healthier, safer and more sustainable communities through our responsible operations and innovative solutions.\nHealthcare benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and health savings account), life, AD&D, and disability insurance, 401k, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance program, and other fringe benefits.\nAbout Veritiv\nTogether with its subsidiaries, Veritiv is the leading full-service provider of packaging solutions.
