Join the #VTeamLife.\nWhat you will be doing:\nAs the Senior 5G RF Engineer for the WCC Advanced Solutions Team, you will serve as the primary RF engineering resource responsible for designing private LTE/5G and in-building systems utilizing various OEM equipment to meet specific technology and application requirements. In this role, you will take ownership of end-to-end designs while ensuring adherence to Verizon's engineering standards. You will evaluate and develop cost-effective design solutions, serving as the internal RF Lead while collaborating closely with partner organization RF leads, construction engineers, and implementation teams to ensure timely project execution.\nServing as the lead RF engineering resource responsible for the end-to-end design of private LTE, private 5G (NSA/SA), and in-building DAS solutions, integrating diverse OEM equipment to satisfy rigorous customer and technical requirements.\nDeveloping comprehensive, in-house predictive models and link budgets using industry-standard tools including iBwave and Atoll, strictly aligning with Verizon engineering benchmarks and design standards.\nSpearheading the end-to-end technical onboarding pipeline using Fuze and Conquest (CQ) to produce fully validated, audit-ready RFDS and RAN CIQ packages.\nConducting on-site technical surveys and field evaluations alongside key project stakeholders to capture environmental constraints, RF propagation variables, and physical infrastructure details.\nCollaborating with construction engineers, implementation managers, and partner organization RF leads to ensure seamless handoffs and on-schedule deployments.\nProviding consultative technical advisory to cross-functional business partners-including Sales, Solutions Architecture, Product, Finance, and Legal to scope viable, cost-effective deployments.\nOwning and mitigating intricate RF engineering bottlenecks, interference profiles, and coverage/capacity trade-offs across emerging cellular standards and legacy topologies.\nWhat we’re looking for...\nYou need to have:\nBachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.\nFour or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.\nDemonstrated hands-on experience performing active RF design work, specifically utilizing Atoll and iBwave design platforms to produce deployment-ready plans .\nDirect experience utilizing tools (specifically Fuze and Conquest) to successfully navigate network build plans and system validations.\nKnowledge of RF Design Principles, Antenna Propagation Models, and RF Power Allocation as well as familiarity with LAA, CBRS, and 5G architecture in enterprise deployment scenarios.\nWillingness to travel.\nEven better if you have:\nA degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.\n5 or more years of technical experience and increasing responsibility (team coordination, mentoring, and technical involvement for large, multi-technology deployments).\nProven background in the engineering onboarding process, with specific experience compiling, validating, and submitting RFDS (Radio Frequency Design Sheets) and RAN CIQ/CQ (Customer Information Questionnaires / Conquest Validations) and e911 filing.\nKnowledge of Private LTE/network architecture.\nExperience with iBwave and knowledge of major DAS systems like Commscope, Mobile Access, Solid, and/or JMA, as well as propagation and optimization modeling tools (Atoll, GeoPlan, and iBwave) .\niBWave Level 2 or 3 and CBRS CPI Certification. \nExperience with MS Office and Google Workspace.\nMapping applications such as Google Earth, and canvas integration tools.\nExperience with MS Office and Google Workspace. \n5G/4G Call Processing experience with knowledge of protocols and new and existing features.\nKnowledge of CAT5/CAT6 based systems like Ericsson DOT and Spidercloud.\nWorking knowledge of at least one data collection tool such as DMAT, Datapro, TEMS Symphony, or similar.\nKnowledge of Ericsson/Nokia/Samsung systems including OSS.\nIf Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.\nWhere you’ll be working\nIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager.
