Want in Join the #VTeamLife.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing...\n\nThis is a leadership role that will require deep technical expertise in AI Engineering and will focus on establishing a strong AI Engineering, AI Platforms that enables Generative and Agentic AI solutions at scale.\n\nDelivering AI Platforms at Scale\n\nLeading the AI engineering team and overseeing the end-to-end development, deployment, and maintenance of scalable AI platforms and frameworks, including delivering core services across the Generative and Agentic AI landscape.\nOwning non-functional KPIs across production deployments of AI applications and agents on the Enterprise AI platform, covering key components such as the AI SDK, Agent Registry, and Agent Builder.\nManaging and tracking strategic KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency, and business impact of enterprise AI solutions.\nDriving innovation by researching, evaluating, and adopting emerging AI technologies, tools, and methodologies to expand organizational AI/ML capabilities.\nEnsuring best-in-class engineering standards in AI development—including rigorous model validation, automated testing, and reliable deployment—while adhering to ethical and regulatory frameworks.\nDirecting project delivery timelines, budgets, and engineering resources to ensure the execution of high-impact AI initiatives.\n\nBuilding and Managing the Team\n\nChampioning a transparent global operating model to establish strong operational foundations across regions.\nBuilding and scaling a high-performing engineering team that operates with autonomy, high accountability, and urgency toward delivering business outcomes.\n\nFostering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion\n\nAttracting and retaining top-tier AI engineering talent with deep technical expertise.\nEnabling team member growth through continuous training pathways, structured on-the-job coaching, and dedicated mentorship.\nFostering an open research culture that empowers practitioners to conduct pioneering work and contribute externally via open-source initiatives and technical publications.\n\nProviding Technical Thought Leadership\n\nOperating as an internal and external subject matter authority on next-generation AI platforms.\nServing as a trusted technical advisor to cross-functional enterprise stakeholders.\nMentoring and developing high-potential technical talent across the organization.\n\nElevating the AI Practice\n\nPartnering with academic institutions and startup ecosystems to source cutting-edge AI approaches that create organizational value.\nTracking industry advancements in Generative and Agentic AI, translating emerging trends into custom enterprise solutions.\nInspiring engineering teams to design bias-aware systems that champion responsible, ethical AI both internally and across external partner networks.\nEstablishing governance routines, model lifecycle management policies, peer-review standards, and compliance frameworks for privacy, ethics, and fairness.\n\nWhere you'll be working\n\nIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.\n\nWhat We're Looking For...\n\nThis leader and the team will own, drive and partner the platform KPIs for use cases driven by BUs. At Verizon, we are at a pivotal point to industrialize our AI capabilities platforms to next-gen standards.\n\nYou are a seasoned AI leader with hands on analytical and coding skills, eager to work in a collaborative environment with global teams to drive AI/ML application in business problems, develop end to end AI driven Cognitive solutions and communicate insights and findings to leadership.\n\nYou thrive in a dynamic environment and are able to interact with various stakeholders and global cross functional teams to implement AI driven business solutions.
