Join the #VTeamLife.\nWhat you’ll be doing...\nAs a Benefits Manager, you will be responsible for managing the health and welfare programs for Verizon’s retiree population. You will develop benefit plan design and strategy for the retiree population and manage all retiree benefit related contracts.\nAdditional responsibilities will include:\nProject manage medical plan projects such as RFPs, implementation of vendor changes and/or plan design changes. Ensure alignment across key milestones and program deliverables, including all privacy, legal, security and related requirements are met.\nMonitor healthcare plan vendor reports and recommend plan design changes to address trends. Use data analytics to ensure understanding of impact and outcomes against program objectives. Identify opportunities to gain efficiencies and improve plan performance.\nManage the day-to-day relationships with key suppliers and outside consultants for retiree benefit related work activities.\nSupport SPDs, SBCs, benefit communications, and other plan documents to ensure that all plan provisions are accurately reflected. Assure corporate compliance with laws and regulations governing employer-sponsored health and insurance benefit plans such as ERISA, HIPAA, Affordable Care Act (ACA), etc. Review state and federal laws pertaining to Verizon’s benefits plans, analyze impact of any changes and provide recommendations to Verizon leadership.\nManage special projects including Annual Enrollment testing to ensure proper plan setup.\nResolve complex escalated retiree healthcare issues.\nManage Collective Bargaining Agreement related requirements for retiree medical plan.\nWhere you’ll be working…\nIn this role, you'll have a work schedule that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.\nWhat we’re looking for...\nYou’ll need to have:\nBachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. \nSix or more years of relevant work experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of job-related work experience, military experience, or specialized training or education (non-collegiate).\nCurrent human resources experience.\nExperience in either a corporate employee benefits department, insurance, or with a healthcare vendor.\nExperience managing vendors and medical plans.\nWillingness to travel. \nEven better if you have one or more of the following:\nA degree and/or advanced certifications\nStrong communication skills and ability to build relationships as well as work collaboratively across departments and vendors.\nExcellent financial and analytical abilities.\nExperience in evaluating data and trends into actionable insights that will support a broader plan strategy.\nAbility to survey the external marketplace and understand trends and opportunities outside of Verizon in order to help inform strategy.\nExperience in managing complex projects/competing deadlines.\nExperience with collective bargaining benefits.\nStrong PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Access or Google Suite.\nAbility to thrive in a fast paced, matrixed environment. \nIf Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.\nWhere you’ll be working\nIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager.
