Join the #VTeamLife.\nWhat you’ll be doing...\nWe are seeking an ambitious, forward-thinking Supply Chain Consultant to manage pre-order/back-order strategies/execution, KPI performance metrics, Analytics, NPI planning and operational reporting across our Forward Device Operations Distribution Network.\nIn this role, you will go beyond daily execution-actively challenging legacy processes, identifying operational bottlenecks, and embedding AI-driven solutions to automate workflows and elevate performance. You will serve as a key operational bridge between Verizon leadership and 3PL warehouse management, ensuring agile, high-performing distribution operations. You will also initiate and lead improvement projects to close gaps in processes and improve upon areas of opportunity.\nProcess Optimization & AI Transformation:\nAuditing legacy operational workflows to identify manual touchpoints, proposing and implementing automated, simplified processes.\nLeveraging modern AI tools, automation platforms, and advanced analytics to streamline daily reporting, improve forecasting accuracy, and eliminate repetitive tasks.\nLeading process improvement projects focused on Back Order planning, optimization and streamlining efficiencies.\nPre-Order & Back-Order Management:\nOwning the back-order strategy by analyzing on-hand vs. inbound inventory to establish and optimize order drop schedules.\nMonitoring and managing 3PL order traps and SKU holds, resolving hold conditions proactively to minimize customer misses.\nPartnering daily with on-site Distribution Center managers to align on order drops, ad-hoc releases, launch readiness, and non-BAU volume shifts.\nReporting, KPIs & Operational Analytics:\nOverseeing operational reporting, KPI metrics (3PL contractual compliance, missed orders, SLA tracking), and invoicing/forecasting analyses.\nPerforming root-cause and trend analysis on missed orders and order volume spikes, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.\nAutomating data extraction from SAP and inventory databases to shift team bandwidth from manual report generation to proactive analytics.\nVendor compliance reporting and analysis to drive improvements where needed.\nCross-Functional Alignment & Escalation:\nCollaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (Planning, Sourcing, Logistics, 3PL Partners) to drive issue resolution and smooth device launches.\nActing as the key operational contact for warehouse escalations.\nDeveloping and maintaining supplier relationships to facilitate regularly scheduled meetings to discuss improvements and performance.\nWhat we’re looking for…\nYou’ll need to have:\nBachelor’s degree or six or more years of work experience.\nFour or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.\nExperience in SAP (MM/SD modules preferred) for inventory tracking, order management, and reporting.\nExperience with AI tools & Workflow Automation to modernize traditional workflows.\nAdvanced Excel / Google Sheets capabilities (data modeling, macros, complex queries).\nEven better if you have one or more of the following:\nStrong continuous improvement mindset with a track record of challenging existing processes and driving measurable efficiency gains.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external 3PL vendors.\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Data Analytics, or a related business field.\n3PL vendor management or Warehouse Management System (WMS) operational experience.\nExperience in high-volume consumer technology, device launching, or retail fulfillment environments.\nSAP Certification or Lean Six Sigma / Process Improvement Certification.\nIf Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.\nWhere you’ll be working\nIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager.
