Join the #VTeamLife.\nVerizon’s Sourcing team is transforming the Global Strategic Sourcing Group and seeks dynamic professionals who are interested in joining our team. Verizon seeks a professional with strong experience in commercial contract covering such areas such as network equipment and infrastructure (including cloud), IT, software development and licensing, maintenance services, construction and manufacturing. The Contract Manager (CM) position is responsible for commercial contract review, advice and management of all contractual documents, working in partnership with the Category Sourcing Experts, suppliers, internal business and legal departments to negotiate, co-ordinate, develop and agree robust legal and commercial terms and conditions with Verizon’s suppliers. The CM acts as an advisor and/or expert for contract related issues and must apply critical thinking skills and work independently to make sound business decisions on behalf of Verizon. Day to day work of the CM requires significant interpretation of diverse contractual issues as well as the ability to identify any potential risk factors that the business needs to consider for the execution of the relevant contract. The role also requires ongoing contract compliance and issue resolution as needed after contract execution. The CM also works closely with internal audit, as necessary, and Supplier's auditors to resolve contract compliance issues.\nAdditional responsibilities include:\nIn accordance with Verizon's priorities, review supplier requests for changes to the terms and conditions of contracts, assess risk of implementing changes, and recommend Verizon's response.\nProviding leadership in drafting and negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers;\nEnsuring all customer-required flow down terms are appropriately handled in Supplier contract/SOW.\nActing as the liaison and providing leadership among Category Sourcing Experts, internal business partners, legal and supplier.\nCoordinating with Verizon Legal support to negotiate contract issue resolution with the supplier and secure final approval of the relevant contract.\nWorking collaboratively with Category Sourcing Experts to ensure that all contract document templates are properly prepared for Request for Proposal (RFPs).\nResolving and responding to contractual related supplier issues and/or questions.\nMeeting with legal counsel to clarify and negotiate complex sourcing contractual issues and or other supplier concerns.\nInterpreting contractual rights and obligations to business partner and Category Sourcing Experts.\nServing as the primary SME and administrator for the Sourcing organizaztions’s Contract Digitization tool (DocuSign Insight/SEAL), providing cross-functional training, custom reporting (Legal, Privacy, TPRM), and key stakeholder support while leading operational initiatives such as the platform's cloud migration.\nEnsuring that current Verizon standard language, including updated terms and conditions, is added to all contracts, as appropriate.\nManaging supplier dispute resolution through formal or informal dispute resolution channels.\nReviewing and interpreting Sourcing and Corporate policy requirements. \nConsulting escalations to senior management of current and potential issues.\nManaging and auditing CPNI operating procedures for US Sourcing organization to ensure compliance with the FCC CPNI rules. \nIn this hybrid role, you may sit out of any Verizon hub office location in the continental US.\nWhat we are looking for…\n\nYou'll need to have:\nBachelor's degree four or more years of work experience.\nSix or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.\nFour or more years experience in contract management and/or sourcing position.\nExperience managing concurrent deliverables. \nExperience with contract drafting skills. \nWillingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.\nEven better if you have one or more of the following:\nA degree.\nJuris doctorate, master’s, or equivalent advanced degree.\nExperience negotiating and managing agreements with significant annual spend.\nExperience with procurement contract risks.\nExperience with procurement contract clauses and principles.\nExperience managing multiple concurrent deliverables in a very dynamic and variable environment where business assumptions fluctuate frequently.\nExperience with US Government contracting, specifically with SLED engagements;\nCertifications from the National Contract Management Association, or equivalent: Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM).\nStrong interpersonal and client-service skills\nSelf-starter with ability to work independently\nStrong oral and written communication skills\nStrong issue resolution and negotiation skills\nStrong project management skills\nIf Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.\nWhere you’ll be working\nIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager.
