Join the #VTeamLife.\nWhat you’ll be doing…\nVerizon’s Technical Accounting department is seeking an experienced leader to oversee key sub-functions within our organization, driving strategy and participating in overall company policy generation.\nLeading and managing a diverse team and support team members’ professional and career development\nProviding guidance and develop comprehensive documentation on the appropriate application of US generally accepted accounting principles to complex and emerging issues \nLeading discussions with executive and senior management on key issues, resulting impacts and conclusions\nDeveloping appropriate accounting solutions to unique situations where precedents or clear guidance do not exist\nProviding training/coaching to professional staff on how to perform thorough research and provide sufficient and appropriate level of documentation to support basis for conclusion\nLiaising with partners in business units, other corporate functions and executive management to provide insights into accounting issues, identify implications and offer practical solutions\nEngaging with other members of the Accounting Operations, Finance, Tax, and business teams to address issues on a timely basis\nDeveloping positions and opinions to anticipate and resolve accounting and reporting inquiries from the FASB and SEC staffs\nDiscussing and resolving issues on an one-on-one basis with the Company's external auditor partners and national office staff\nExecuting on time sensitive technical issues and bring them to conclusion\nWhat we’re looking for…\nYou will lead multidisciplinary projects, manage project investments, and build strong cross-functional networks with internal and external decision-makers. You are able to formulate accounting applications to complex business issues, and are able to communicate highly technical matters in a manner that is clear and easy to understand by non-technical personnel. You will establish policies for your area while leading a team.
