Join the #VTeamLife.\nWhat you’ll be doing…\nAs an Elevator Mechanic, you will utilize your technical skills to repair, replace, maintain and inspect elevators and associated components within Verizon’s buildings. Your know-how and commitment to excellence will ensure that our elevator systems always operate at maximum efficiency.\nYour responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:\nReviews and interprets electrical circuit diagrams required for the maintenance and safe operation of elevators.\nTrouble shoots, repairs and maintains the various types of automatic elevators, including drum, hydraulic, single and double traction machines.\nMaintains and services associated operating equipment such as controllers, selectors, generators, cab and hatch doors, and safety equipment and controls.\nRe-ropes all types of elevators. Replaces tapes as required and inspects and maintains shaft guide rails.\nPerforms inspections and makes repairs on equipment or systems as required by Verizon Practices and/or local ordinances.\nWorks at unusual heights from the top of the elevator cab and in hoist way, when necessary.\nClimbing ladders, working aloft, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs.\nTravels from one building location to another by public transportation or company vehicle.\nEvacuates people from elevator when required.\nMay be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.\nWorking evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.\nWork tour hours are 7am to 3pm, Monday through Friday (hours may vary). Overtime is as needed by the business.\nWhat we’re looking for…\nYou know elevators like the back of your hand, and are anxious to put your knowledge and skills to work for the V Team. You like to be busy and well-organized to stay on top of things.
