Additionally, you will also be conducting analysis of situations or data requiring an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.\nProviding mentoring to other team members on networking, application design, engineering and automation while acting as the final escalation point to support production service issues in concert with application, operational, and triage teams.\nLeading performance meetings with the agency, planning and maintenance engineering and creating detailed project plans. \nProviding input on status calls with teams across several organizations.\nFinishing projects independently and meeting tight timelines without impacting critical services.\nDeveloping excellent working relationships with and working as a partner with other departments and vendors with the purpose developing best practices for engineering and operations.\nThe Network Engineer provides day-to-day sustaining engineering support for the customer enterprise network.\nDesigns and implements computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks including Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV).\nPerforms network modeling, analysis, and planning. Also designs network and computer security measures. Researches and recommends network and data communications hardware and software.\nSupports the installation of new services and features, changes to existing services and features in accordance with prescribed change management procedures, implementation of approved upgrades, and scheduled maintenance.\nSupport activities include Voice over IP (VoIP), Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) based services as well as Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) voice integration.\nValidate network and application operations following network changes.\nExecute design-impacting changes to the network, including configuration review & approval in accordance with approved design and engineering documentation.\nExecute fallback / contingency plans for network restoration and support disaster recovery drills.\nMonitor success indicators for design-impacting changes\nUpdate network design documentation, post implementation\nWorks at an enterprise level and in cross-functional teams to assist with the development of strategic and enterprise plans.\nWhat we’re looking for...\nYou’re a technical expert with experience managing multiple medium to large projects at once. Cross-functional work is ideal for you, given your collaborative nature and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders across the organization. You have experience and knowledge in scripting and automation and have a knack for using these abilities to increase efficiency within a production environment.
