Join the #VTeamLife.\nWhat you’ll be doing…\nYou’re an expert with HVAC, plumbing, electrical and even building mechanicals… and if there’s a maintenance problem with our building, you’ve got it covered! Your know-how and commitment to excellence will ensure that Verizon’s building systems always operate at maximum efficiency.\nYour responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:\nStarting, operating, repairing and maintaining various types of heating and air conditioning plants and associated equipment (i.e. air handling equipment, refrigeration equipment, etc.).\nMaintaining and repairing motor controller and associated electrical equipment and control circuits.\nInstalling, repairing and calibrating various makes of pneumatic and/or electric controls required for the operation of temperature and humidity control equipment.\nPerforming inspections and making repairs on equipment/systems as required by company practices and/or regulations/ordinances.\nReviewing and interpreting word orders, operating instructions, diagrams, building plans and mechanical equipment drawings.\nClimbing ladders, working aloft, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs.\nWorking evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.\nWork tour hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday (hours may vary). Overtime is as needed by the Company.\nWhat we’re looking for…\nYou know HVAC and other building systems like the back of your hand, and are anxious to put your knowledge and skills to work for the V Team. You like to be busy and well-organized to stay on top of things. You take pride in a job well done because you know better matters!\nYou’ll need to have:\nValid NY refrigeration license (Q-01) and ability to pass, obtain and maintain a current certificate of fitness for one or all of the following: fire standpipe, sprinkler, welding, oil burner and air compressor operation.\nUniversal Technician Certification as designated by EPA regulations-40 CFR Part 82 Subpart H.\nValid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.\nTests - Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, in accordance with Company policy.\nMust meet safety-related requirements including but not limited to those standards of safety imposed by OSHA, state agencies, manufacturers and/or the company.\nMedical evaluation is required. Must be able to perform physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation, including, but not limited to, lifting, carrying and maneuvering heavy equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.\nMust be available to work scheduled tours designated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and/or the needs of the business.
