Join the #VTeamLife.\nWhat you’ll be doing…\nYou’re a licensed HVAC professional and well-rounded in other areas of building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, and even building mechanicals. If there’s a maintenance problem with our buildings, you’ve got it covered! Your professional training and commitment to excellence will ensure that Verizon’s building systems always operate a maximum efficiency. \nYour responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:\nOperating, maintaining, and repairing uninterruptible power systems including rectifiers, inverters, batteries, and their associated controls and distribution.\n\nDiagnosing and repairing stand-by power supplies including diesel, gasoline, oil and other types of engine alternators and their associated controls and distribution in facilities other than switching.\n\nMaintaining, diagnosing and repairing building electrical systems of 480 volts or less.\n\nAssisting outside contractors in overhaul of uninterruptible stand-by power supplies and in testing of building electrical systems.\n\nDiagnosing and repairing failures in environmental cooling system refrigeration components, i.e., chillers, compressors, and their associated controls, etc., with capacities up to 500 tons.\n\nMaintaining hardware and software, diagnosing and repairing centralized energy management control systems including adding control points, reprogramming building operations through microprocessor software changes, etc.\n\nMaintaining emergency engines in critical administrative locations.\n\nWears appropriate safety equipment.\n\nSpends most of shift walking, standing, and/or climbing ladders.\n\nWorks independently with minimum supervision.\n\nMay be exposed to all weather conditions.\n\nWorks in various buildings and surroundings, such as roofs, attics, basements, offices, etc.\n\nMay be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.\n\nWorking evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.\n\nWork tour hours are 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday (hours may vary). Overtime is as needed by the business.\n\nWhat we’re looking for…\nYou know HVAC and other building systems like the back of your hand, and are anxious to put your knowledge and skills to work for the Verizon Team. You like to be busy and well-organized to stay on top of things. You take pride in a job well done because you know better matters!\nYou’ll need to have:\nTests- Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, in accordance with Company policy.\n\nMust mee safety-related requirements including but not limited to those standards of safety imposed by OSHA, state agencies, manufacturers, and/or the Company.\n\nMust be able to perform physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including, but not limited to, lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy equipment weighing up to 70 lbs.\n\nRequired to frequently work aloft, with chemicals, high voltage, high pressures, and high temperatures.\n\nAbility to use hand tools, meters, and testing devices.\n\nAbility to read floor plans and electric diagrams.\n\nRelevant vocational or technical training or 3 or more years of relevant work experience.\n\nMust hold Type Universal Technician Certification as designated by EPA regulations-40 CFR Part 82 Subpart H.\n\nMust hold a a valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.\n\nEven better if you have one or more of the following:\nRecent experience performing maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC equipment.\n\nTest(s) Required\nBuilding Maintenance Qualification Test, Verizon Job Fit Test BTest Previews\nWhere you’ll be working\nIn this worksite-based role, you'll work onsite at a defined location(s).Scheduled Weekly Hours\n40Equal Employment Opportunity\nVerizon is an equal opportunity employer.
