Join the #VTeamLife.\nWhat you’ll be doing...\nAs a Network Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for an expert level knowledge in addressing outage incidents, outage communications, change management, and process issues for a dedicated Public Sector customer.\nAs a part of a highly visible team, you are accountable for ensuring high network availability and attainment of service levels. The team operates in a round the clock environment to provide continuous management and support of the Verizon network.\nIn this role you will...\nApply a broad awareness of surveillance techniques to monitor a variety of data types across global networks and report out on customer impact.\nManage and communicating network outages in a timely and effective manner to external teams by communicating technical details and status to customer service centers, technical support organizations, vendors, and executive management teams during network events and major outages. \nApply in-depth technical knowledge to help resolve complex issues.\nActively build relationships with the customer and support teams. \nPartner with automation teams to analyze current processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation. \nIdentify system constraints and limitations, recommend solutions to enhance overall performance for engineers via automation.\nWhere you'll be working...\nIn his hybrid role, you must live within a reasonable commuting distance to one of the locations listed on this posting. Your work will consist of some days working from home and some days in the office as assigned by your manager.\nWhat we’re looking for...\nYou’ll need to have...\nAssociate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.\nThree or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.\nThree or more years of experience as a network assurance engineer\nAdvanced IP and Routing experience.\nMust have, or qualify for, and maintain a U.S. government clearance at the Public Trust level.\nMust be able to participate in the on-call rotation which requires work on evenings and weekends during your week of rotation.\nEven better if you also have...\nBachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.\nExperience working in telecommunications, network operations, and/or network maintenance.\nKnowledge of LTE networks and 1X to 5G technologies.\nKnowledge of Cloud and Virtualized solutions.\nExperience scripting with Python or equivalent languages.\nKnowledge of all major cellular switching, sub-systems, data networks, and power systems.\nWorking knowledge of basic telephony and network architecture.\nWorking knowledge of switching fundamentals.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adjust to priority changes.\nIf Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.\nWhere you’ll be working\nIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager.
