Join the #VTeamLife.\nWhat you’ll be doing...\nAct as the main field liaison between Empire City Subway/Verizon, municipal agencies, contractors, and project stakeholders. \nYou’ll work with cross functional teams including Engineering, Customer Service Center and Contract Administration to plan, organize, schedule and control all mainline and entrance projects within the force to load guidelines.\nManaging a team of contractor employees.\nPrioritizing workload based on due dates and customer requirements.\nTracking jobs budgets, status, and accomplishments including the close out of completed jobs.\nMaintaining productivity and cost reports.\nCompleting quality inspections and daily time reporting for all direct reports.\nWhat we’re looking for...\nYou’re organized, motivated, and detail oriented, and known for your sound judgment. Solving problems creatively and constantly looking for ways to improve processes are some of your strengths. You’re comfortable holding people accountable for their performance and their adherence to policy, and you’re able to inspire and engage diverse groups to do their best work.\nYou'll need to have:\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or four or more years of work experience.\nKnowledge of methods of municipal construction including excavation, trenching, sheeting.\nComprehensive understanding of municipal engineering and interference. \nThorough knowledge of NYC Municipal & Utility Regulatory Knowledge, CET, Section U, and Joint Bidding.\nAbility to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.\nAbility to work with municipal officials, construction superintendents, and professional engineers.\nStrong negotiation, communication and cost estimating skills.\nExperience administering processes and policies as they relate to: safety, attendance, performance work rules and code of conduct.\nExperience with communication systems and tools.\nValid driver’s license\nWillingness to travel\nEven better if you have one or more of the following:\nProfessional Engineer experience.\nKnowledge of installation and maintenance on copper or fiber technology.\nSupervisory experience in a field operations environment.\nExperience in administering processes and policies as they relate to: safety, attendance, performance work rules and code of conduct.\nExperience providing training, feedback and motivation to employees.\nStrong organizational, time-priority management and results oriented leadership skills.\nKnowledge of employment/labor laws.\nTeam management experience.\nCustomer service experience.\nProven ability to interpret labor contracts/collective bargaining agreements.\nExperience with outside plant construction, electronics and placing/splicing copper/fiber.\nIf Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.\nWhere you’ll be working\nIn this worksite-based role, you'll work onsite at a defined location(s).Scheduled Weekly Hours\n40Equal Employment Opportunity \nVerizon is an equal opportunity employer.
