In this role, you will manage the day to day operations of vulnerability assessment platforms, automate exposure pipelines, and partner with global engineering, cloud, and security operations teams to drive proactive risk reduction.\nResponsibilities include:\nPlatform Operations: Manage, scale, and maintain modern vulnerability assessment platforms, scanners, and underlying cloud infrastructure.\nWorkflow Automation: Automate repetitive manual triage tasks, ingestion pipelines, and remediation tracking using scripting and integrations.\nContinuous Exposure Management: Drive ongoing evaluation and optimization of vulnerability identification programs to adapt to modern hybrid and cloud-native attack surfaces.\nCross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with global functional organizations and cloud engineering teams to interpret vulnerability findings and streamline remediation.\nTechnical Support & Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external security vendors to troubleshoot scanning issues, API integrations, and ingestion blocks.\nEnterprise Visibility & Reporting: Drive comprehensive asset and vulnerability visibility across all corporate assets, ensuring consistent metric reporting and executive dashboards.\nAdvanced Triage & Analysis: Evaluate reported zero-days, CVEs, and security bugs to ensure accurate prioritization, risk scoring, and operational deployment.\nStakeholder Escalation & Advocacy: Drive security awareness, track SLA compliance, and manage escalations for critical unpatched assets.\nWhat we’re looking for...\nYou’ll need to have:\nBachelor's degree or one or more years of work experience. \nOne or more years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, focusing specifically on Vulnerability Management or Threat Exposure programs.\nPractical experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and data manipulation.\nExperience with core security concepts, common vulnerability scoring systems (CVSS), and exploit mechanics.\nHands-on experience within Security Operations, Cloud Security, or enterprise vulnerability assessment teams.\nEven better if you have one or more of the following:\nFamiliarity with compliance standards and security frameworks (SOC 2, NIST, ISO 27001, SOX).\nComprehensive understanding of vulnerability vectors across modern IT architectures, including cloud workloads (AWS/GCP/Azure), containers, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and traditional OS/networks.\nWorking knowledge of structured data formats (JSON, YAML, XML) and RESTful APIs for automated payload ingestion and pagination handling.\nExperience leveraging AI/ML-driven security tools, automated predictive analytics, and contextual risk scoring.\nMulti-departmental project management experience driving enterprise-wide security initiatives in large organizations.\nExperience within telecommunications or highly complex, non-IT business segments.\nInterpersonal & Communication Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, organized execution, and the capacity to translate technical risk into business priorities.\nPositive, collaborative, and team-first mindset backed by a strong operational work ethic.\nHigh degree of autonomy, capable of driving complex projects independently while coordinating seamlessly across distributed teams.\nExcellent time-management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced, dynamic threat environment.\nIf Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.\nWhere you’ll be working\nIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager.
