We’re rapidly scaling this impact: today, more than 2 million Verkada devices are deployed across 170+ countries. \nAbout the Role\nAs a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, negotiating with various vendors, and partnering closely with cross-functional teams to deliver on business objectives for the Spend Money Wisely team (Verkada’s take on Strategic Sourcing). Your primary focus will involve negotiating strategic deals, optimizing the technology portfolio through vendor consolidation opportunities, and providing strategic guidance to functional partners in balancing new features, seat/usageexpansion, and rip-n-replace initiatives. You will lead sourcing initiatives, manage vendor relationships, work closely with Legal, Security, and Finance teams, and ensure cost efficiency and value optimization across Verkada’s spend portfolio. A key focus will be to create and deliver category strategies. We are committed to a thriving in-office culture. This role requires that you be on-site at our HQ in San Mateo, CA 5 days a week.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead the development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives for Engineering, IT, Product and Sales teams.\nNegotiate complex, high-value contracts and agreements with strategic vendors.\nIdentify and execute vendor consolidation opportunities to optimize the spend portfolio.\nProvide strategic guidance to functional partners on procurement decisions, balancing new features, seat/usage expansion, and rip-n-replace considerations & initiatives.\nBuild and maintain vendor relationships, ensuring performance and compliance with contracts.\nConduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in technology space and how that may impact sourcing decisions.\nDevelop and implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives.\nMonitor and report on key sourcing metrics and performance indicators.\nDevelop key category strategies for business partners to establish priorities to maximize value.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams such as Legal, Security, and Finance to ensure alignment of sourcing strategies with business needs.\nEnsure compliance with procurement policies and regulations for Verkada’s globalscale.\nBe a key contributor in driving and supporting our P2P process.\nWhat You Bring\n5+ years of proven experience in strategic sourcing, technology procurement, and vendor management.\nStrong negotiation skills and experience in negotiating complex contracts.\nAbility to analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and value optimization.\nExcellent communication, prioritization and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to provide strategic guidance to functional partners on procurement decisions.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nKnowledge of procurement policies and regulations.\nExperience with vendor consolidation and technology portfolio optimization.\n5-star customer service mindset.\nExcellent teamwork skills - we have a #OneTeam mindset!\nAbility to find out-of-box solutions to best fit business needs and requirements.\nMust be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.\nUS Employee Benefits\nVerkada is committed to fostering a workplace environment that prioritizes the holistic health and wellbeing of our employees and their families by offering comprehensive wellness perks, benefits, and resources.
