This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced quality professional to take ownership of inspection activities, provide leadership to the inspection function, and play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance across the business.\nReporting to the Supplier Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Inspection Department, managing workloads and priorities, supporting and developing team members, and ensuring that products meet customer, regulatory and aerospace industry requirements.\nWorking within a highly regulated aerospace environment, you will utilise your technical expertise and leadership skills to drive quality improvements, resolve inspection challenges and ensure inspection processes are delivered effectively and efficiently. \nResponsibilities:\nManage inspection priorities and coordinate activities with internal departments to ensure business requirements are met.\nSupervise the day-to-day running of the Inspection Department.\nProvide training, guidance and coaching to Inspectors and Quality team members on inspection techniques, document review and the use of calibrated measuring equipment.\nManage, review and action inspection queries, ensuring timely resolution.\nOversee shelf-life controlled inventory and ensure compliance with company standards.\nManage product non-conformances, supplier returns and associated corrective actions.\nSupport and drive continuous improvement activities to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.\nPerform dimensional, visual and documentation inspections on incoming materials and outgoing products where required.\nIdentify products requiring ad-hoc sample inspection based on customer feedback, non-conformance trends and part criticality.\nReview and approve inspection records, reports, checklists and dispositions.\nCreate, manage and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102.\nSupport root cause investigations relating to customer feedback, returns and quality concerns.\nWork closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify corrective actions and implement improvements.\nEstablish and oversee inspection standards and best practices for incoming goods.\nThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:\nPrevious experience within a Senior Inspection, Inspection or Quality role, ideally within aerospace, aviation, manufacturing or engineering environments.\nProven experience leading, mentoring or supervising team members.\nStrong understanding of aerospace quality requirements and inspection processes.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.\nExperience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges.\nKnowledge of aerospace regulations and industry standards.\nKnowledge of AS9102 and ISO 2859-1.\nExperience of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.\nAbility to understand and review traceability and certification documentation.\nTechnical engineering apprenticeship or engineering background would be advantageous.\nStrong organisational, planning and workload management skills.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nStrong analytical and decision-making capabilities.\nComputer literacy including Microsoft Office applications.\nIn return we are offering:\nBasic Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience\nOpportunity to join a growing global aerospace organisation.\nOngoing training and professional development opportunities.\n25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and Christmas closure, increasing with service.\nPrivate medical insurance.\nEnhanced pension contribution.\nCompany bonus scheme.\nLife assurance.\nInterested?
