As a member of the Product Management team, you will partner with leaders across the product, operations, engineering, IT, and sales teams to drive innovation and leverage the latest technologies to deliver best-in-class backoffice systems that achieve business objectives. The successful candidate will be passionate about technology with an ability to lead innovation and execution. In this business-critical role, you will merge customer needs with technology to cast a vision for Verra Mobility’s legacy and future backoffice solutions and drive the organization toward that goal. You will collaborate with key internal stakeholders to manage the backoffice systems across their lifecycle, gathering requirements, scoping initiatives, establishing product roadmaps, and working with development and support teams to ensure high product quality while minimizing cost. \nYou’ll join a product squad with a defined problem space, embedded alongside a technical lead and engineering team. But this isn’t a backlog-grooming role, as you’ll own discovery: getting in front of customers, validating the problems, stress-testing potential solutions, and driving a roadmap that delivers measurable outcomes. You’ll report directly to the Director of Product and operate as a key product leader as we build toward a modern Product Operating Model. \nWhat You’ll Do \nOwn the problem, drive discovery \nLead continuous customer discovery, including interviews, ride-alongs, and data analysis, to validate problems and pressure-test solutions before committing to build. \nFrame customer and business problems with clarity and evidence, ensuring the team works on what truly matters. \nDefine and maintain a prioritized roadmap grounded in measurable outcomes, rather than a feature wish list. \nBalance user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility, using sound judgment and solid product sense. \nPartner early with Legal, Compliance, and Operations functions to shape viable solutions. \nOwn the problem end-to-end, make tough prioritization calls, document your reasoning and outcomes. \nGuide delivery and build trust with your squad \nPartner closely with your technical lead and engineering team, creating context, removing ambiguity, and enabling the squad to move with speed and confidence. \nCollaborate closely with your design lead to ensure solutions are not just technically sound but also user centered. \nWrite crisp, outcome-oriented briefs and acceptance criteria; avoid over-specifying implementation details, and focus on why the problem matters and what success looks like \nLeverage AI tools to accelerate discovery synthesis, documentation, and delivery workflows. \nShare your approach to discovery and product thinking with peers, contributing to a growing product practice. \nConnect product to impact \nDevelop a working understanding of how products drive revenue, retention, and operational efficiency for our customers. \nContribute to go-to-market strategy by informing pricing, positioning, and launch readiness in close collaboration with commercial teams. \nDefine and track success metrics that link customer outcomes to business performance. \nServe as the internal expert for your product area trusted by sales, operations, and leadership. \nWhat We’re Looking For \nRequired \n3-7 years of product management experience, with a track record of owning outcomes. \nExperience leading customer discovery and translating qualitative and quantitative insights into product decisions. \nAbility to operate effectively in a cross-functional squad environment alongside engineering and design peers. \nExperience in regulated or complex-domain industries, such as automotive, fleet, payments, fintech, or similar, with a demonstrated record of learning new domains. \nComfort working in and contributing to organizations evolving their product operating model. \nActive use of AI tools to enhance productivity in day-to-day product work, such as discovery workflows, streamlining documentation, automating research, creating prototypes, and accelerating delivery. \nExcellent written and verbal communication: you write clearly, tailor your message to different audiences, and tell a coherent product story. \nStrong critical thinking and a bias toward evidence over opinion. \nGreat to Have \nKnowledge of the transportation/smart mobility sector and road safety is a plus \nFamiliarity with product tooling such as Aha!, Azure DevOps, JIRA, or comparable platforms. \nExperience working with compliance, legal, or regulatory stakeholders in a multi-jurisdictional environment. \nWhat Success Looks Like \nIn this role, you’re not measured by how much you ship, you’re measured by the outcomes you drive with your team.
