This role includes managing Oracle Autonomous Databases, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) DB Systems, Exadata Cloud Services, and database migrations to the cloud. The Senior Database Administrator i ensures high availability, performance tuning, automation, and compliance across mission-critical database environments. This individual will work under the guidance of the Database Manager to develop/support database solutions to support various company initiatives.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nDesign and implement scalable database architectures on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).\nManage OCI database services including Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP-D) and OCI GoldenGate.\nOversee installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance of Oracle Databases (19c and later).\nPerform backup and recovery operations using RMAN, Data Guard, and OCI-native tooling.\nOptimize database performance through SQL tuning, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, and AWR/ASH diagnostics.\nConfigure and maintain Oracle Data Guard, Active Data Guard, and full disaster-recovery environments.\nLead migrations of on-prem Oracle databases into Oracle GovCloud using best-practice methods.\nManage OCI resources including compute instances, databases, storage, networking, and block/object storage.\nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and OCI Resource Manager.\nImplement high-availability strategies, autoscaling, and load-balancing architectures.\nEnforce database security policies including encryption, auditing, access control, and Oracle Vault key management.\nManage user roles, privileges, authentication, and identity integration with OCI IAM and IDCS.\nDesign and execute Oracle on-prem to OCI migrations using Data Pump, Transportable Tablespaces, GoldenGate, or RMAN backup/restore.\nImplement proactive monitoring using OCI Monitoring, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Log Analytics.\nAnalyze incidents, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver root-cause resolutions for internal and external database applications.\nPerform database cloning with data masking from production to lower environments across on-prem and OCI Autonomous Databases.\nImplement DDL/DML scripts in alignment with SCRUM-based application release cycles.\nAutomate recurring tasks using SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages.\nIdentify and recommend opportunities for application, process, and operational improvements.\nPromote adherence to departmental and software-development standards.\nSupport knowledge sharing, learning, and enablement across the DBA team.\nSet a professional example through strong performance, leadership, and consistent reliability.\nQualifications: \nBachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.\n8+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience across on-prem Oracle and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).\n3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).\nProven ability to independently own, manage, and deliver tasks and projects with minimal direction.\nStrong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues autonomously.\nDemonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies and applications with minimal guidance.\nPositive, solutions-oriented “can-do” attitude toward problem-solving and task completion.\nDeep experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Exadata (on-prem or cloud), Active Data Guard, performance tuning, RMAN, and OCI GoldenGate replication.\nStrong knowledge of Linux OS administration.\nProficient in scripting using OCI CLI, Python, Bash, Perl, PowerShell, and related tools.\nExpertise in backup strategies and all facets of database recovery, including simple restores and point-in-time recovery.\nExperience managing and supporting Very Large Databases (VLDB).\nSuccessful completion of the Nlets fingerprinting background assessment.\nPersonal Skills and Attributes\nCapable of researching, analyzing, and resolving issues involving technologies outside core expertise.\nStrong technical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and independently within a global team environment.\nProven analytical and problem-solving abilities across diverse database platforms and technologies.\nHighly adaptable and able to perform in fast-paced, dynamic environments.\nEffective communicator with the ability to collaborate with application development teams, technical services, and management.\nExceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\nWilling and able to support 24×7 operations, ensuring system uptime, reliability, and responsiveness.\nDemonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies and applications with minimal direction.\nExtensive experience working in team-oriented, collaborative environments, contributing to shared goals and continuous improvement.\nGood English written and verbal communication skills.\nMust be locally located and comfortable working a 3 days in office hybrid model and 2 days remote.\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship now or in the future.\nVerra Mobility Values\n\nAn ideal candidate for this role naturally works in alignment with the Verra Mobility Core Values:\nOwn It.
