Versa's software-based approach gives enterprises and service providers agility, cost savings and flexibility, through a platform that is feature-rich, scalable and easy to use.\n\nRole Summary\nWe are looking for SDETs to join the quality engineering team for the Versa Messaging Service (VMS), a Kubernetes-based appliance that distributes identity, posture and threat-context data. VMS has a Go microservices data plane, a Java/Spring Boot control plane, and a gRPC/Protobuf streaming interface consumed by other Versa products.\nYou will build and run the automation, test harnesses and tooling that tell us whether a VMS release is ready to ship. You will work closely with developers, DevOps and other product teams, and you will own test areas end to end, from design to automation to triage.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nTest automation\nBuild and maintain automated integration and end-to-end tests for the publish/subscribe path across record types, services and tenants.\nWrite tests for the Go microservices and the Java/Spring Boot control plane, including API-level and gRPC streaming tests.\nImplement contract and schema-evolution tests for the gRPC/Protobuf interface so that deployed VOS clients stay backward compatible.\nDevelop reusable test libraries, simulators, load generators and data generators in Go, Java or Python.\nInstallation, upgrade and lifecycle testing\nExecute and automate the install and upgrade matrix: ISO and package installs, single-node and multi-node topologies, FIPS and non-FIPS builds.\nAutomate in-place upgrade, rollback and database migration scenarios, including failure and recovery paths.\nTest shell-based installation and lifecycle scripts on Linux.\nPerformance and resilience\nDesign and run load, scale and soak tests; collect and analyze throughput, latency, resource-usage and memory-growth data.\nRun failover and recovery tests and record RTO and RPO results.\nContribute to the capacity model and the documented supported limits.\nSecurity and compliance\nSupport validation of FIPS builds and hardening (STIG or equivalent) requirements.\nTest TLS/mTLS, certificate and PKI scenarios, and authentication and integration protocols (RADIUS, SCIM, syslog).\nCI/CD and quality practices\nIntegrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitLab CI) with automated quality gates.\nTriage failures, file high-quality defects with root-cause analysis, and track escaped defects.\nWork with developers to improve unit and component test coverage and promote shift-left practices.\nContribute to release-readiness reporting across concurrent release branches.\nCoordinate with other product teams on cross-product compatibility testing.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nB.E./B.Tech. or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication or equivalent.\n3 to 8 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation.\nSolid programming skills in Go or Java, plus Python or a similar scripting language.\nWorking knowledge of Kubernetes (pods, services, ingress, storage, Helm or operators) and Docker.\nGood Linux knowledge and shell scripting skills.\nWorking knowledge of gRPC and Protocol Buffers.\nUnderstanding of TCP/IP, HTTP and TLS, with hands-on experience debugging network and service issues.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.\nStrong analytical and debugging skills, and clear written and verbal communication.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience testing on-premises or appliance software, including ISO/package installation, upgrade and rollback.\nExposure to Kafka or other messaging and streaming systems.\nExperience with performance testing tools and profiling (for example Locust, k6, JMeter, pprof).\nExposure to FIPS, STIG or Common Criteria testing.\nFamiliarity with mTLS, PKI, syslog, RADIUS, SCIM, SAML or OAuth2/OIDC.\nFamiliarity with Prometheus and Grafana.\nExposure to AWS, Azure or
