Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, this role will partner with business leaders, employees, and the Versant News Group HR team to deliver effective day-to-day HR support, drive employee engagement, and execute cross-functional initiatives and special projects.\nResponsibilities\nServe as a primary HR contact for MSNOW employees, partnering with HR Business Partners and functional leaders throughout the employee lifecycle.\nSupport core HR activities, including staffing, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, compensation and bonus planning, reporting, and analytics.\nPartners with MSNOW HR leaders on strategic people initiatives, including employee engagement, retention, organizational design, title and compensation analyses, career development, diversity programs, and employee relations matters.\nProvide guidance on employee relations issues and support the fair, consistent application of company policies and practices.\nCoach employees on career development, career pathing, and professional growth opportunities.\nAdvise employees on workplace matters and help resolve concerns in a proactive, professional, and solutions-oriented manner.\nInterpret and apply HR policies, practices, and procedures, including those related to time off, parental leave, and other employee programs.\nServe as a liaison between employees, leaders, and functional partners-including Payroll, Benefits, and Talent Acquisition-to resolve day-to-day employee matters.\nPartner with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to support objective recruitment strategies, diverse candidate slates, and strong candidate selection.\nSupport additional HR initiatives and projects as assigned.\n Basic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree.\n3+ years of relevant HR experience supporting an active, fast-paced employee population.\n3+ years of experience supporting a range of HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, compensation planning, employee relations, and organizational development.\nDesired Characteristics\nExperience supporting news, media, broadcast, or similarly fast-paced organization.\nExperience managing large-scale or cross-functional projects.\nExperience working in a start-up, evolving, or unionized environment.\nStrong business judgment, analytical ability, and project-management skills.\nDemonstrated coaching, mentoring, and leadership capabilities, with a results-oriented and adaptable approach.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities effectively and navigate change in a dynamic environment.\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.\nAdditional Information:\nHybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on business need.
