OVERVIEW:\nUnder the direction of the Superintendent, Power Systems Technical Dept. incumbent is responsible for managing and maintaining the Cascade Data Base software system, LAN software application, compiling and analyzing electrical system data, managing electrical inventory management, and other Electrical Department administrative functions. \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nManages the Cascade Data Base software package. \nAssists with the development and implementation of software programs and implementation\nto improve departmental efficiency. \nBecomes familiar with the Electrical Department LAN and associated software packages.\nProvides technical support to supervisors for the LAN and associated application software packages.\nActs as primary backup on Scada Master Software and assists Electrical Engineering with software maintenance.\nManages the Electrical Department stock system.\nReceives and inspects new electrical equipment for both capital and O&M improvements and accurately processes received reports and associated equipment records.\nAssists with the compiling and interpretation of equipment test data and associated report generation.\nAssists with the compiling and interpretation of monthly substation readings.\nBecomes familiar with the account number system associated with both capital and O & M functions and assists with departmental compliance for time cards, meal slips, requisitions, cost estimates, etc.\nReviews and updates monthly inside/outside repair list based on supervisor feedback and monthly substation readings. \nServes as a departmental interface for equipment data requests generated from both inside and outside the Company. \nAssists with electrical equipment specifications and procurement. \nProvides administrative backup and support to the Department Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Meter Technical Supervisor.\nADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: \nSpecial projects as assigned.\nOther related duties as assigned, including designated duties associated with Storm Restoration. \nREQUIRED OR PREFERRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: \nMinimum of a two-year degree in an electrical or computer discipline is preferred. \nExperience with LAN environment and substation equipment preferred. \nPosition requires initiative and decision making with a minimum of supervision.\nPosition requires identity verification and seven-year criminal background check with update at least every seven years pursuant to NERC standards.\nPHYSICAL AND MENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:\nPosition requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and driving.\nPosition requires excellent oral and written communication skills\nPosition requires lifting up to 50 pounds.\nPosition requires a current Maine Driver’s License.\nNon-Bargaining Unit, Regular and Term employees who have at least six (6) months satisfactory job performance
