This role will be responsible for securing enterprise network boundaries, leading firewall architecture initiatives, and ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance across all edge security environments.\nThe ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with strong experience in next-generation firewall technologies, threat prevention, and enterprise-scale network security design.\nKey Responsibilities\nFirewall Architecture & Engineering\nDesign, deploy, and maintain Palo Alto Networks NGFWs (physical and virtual). \nLead architecture and configuration of: \nSecurity zones and segmentation \nNAT policies \nSecurity policies \nApp-ID, User-ID, and Content-ID \nGlobalProtect VPN \nImplement and manage Panorama for centralized firewall management. \nArchitect and maintain high-availability (HA) firewall clusters. \nManage multi-site and hybrid cloud perimeter environments including Azure and GCP. \nSecurity & Threat Prevention\nConfigure and optimize: \nIPS/IDS \nURL Filtering \nWildFire \nDNS Security \nSSL decryption \nMonitor and respond to security alerts and firewall-related incidents. \nPerform firewall rule reviews, audits, and optimization. \nSupport vulnerability remediation and compliance initiatives. \nNetwork Operations & Optimization\nEnsure high availability and performance of perimeter security infrastructure. \nConduct capacity planning and performance tuning. \nTroubleshoot complex network and firewall issues. \nCollaborate with NOC/SOC teams for incident resolution. \nMaintain documentation of architecture, policies, and procedures. \nCompliance & Governance\nParticipate in security assessments and audits. \nEnsure adherence to security best practices and standards. \nLeadership & Collaboration\nServe as technical SME for perimeter security. \nMentor junior engineers. \nPartner with cloud, infrastructure, and security teams on new initiatives. \nLead firewall migration and upgrade projects. \nRequired Qualifications\n7+ years of network engineering experience. \n5+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls. \nStrong experience with: \nPanorama \nGlobalProtect VPN \nIPSec and SSL VPNs \nBGP, OSPF, and routing fundamentals \nNetwork segmentation and zero-trust design \nDeep understanding of: \nTCP/IP \nNAT \nVLANs \nDNS/DHCP \nSSL/TLS \nExperience managing high-availability firewall deployments. \nStrong troubleshooting skills in complex enterprise environments. \nPreferred Qualifications\nPalo Alto certifications (PCNSE preferred). \nExperience with cloud firewalls (VM-Series). \nExperience with Prisma Access or SASE solutions. \nAutomation experience (Python, Ansible, REST APIs). \nExperience with SIEM integrations (Splunk, Sentinel, etc.). \nExperience in large enterprise or multi-data center environments \nSoft Skills\nStrong communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences). \nAbility to lead technical initiatives independently. \nStrong documentation and process discipline. \nAnalytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills. \nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). \n As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with a VERSANT Media employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
