Reporting to the VP of Infrastructure, this role is responsible for platform architecture, governance, enterprise integrations, and the leadership of the Service Management development team.\nThis leader will define and execute the long-term vision for building a strategic enterprise workflow and automation platform, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and alignment with business priorities across all environments (Dev, QA, Prod).\nResponsibilities\nPlatform Architecture & Strategy\nOwn the overall architecture, roadmap, and lifecycle management of the Service Management platform.\n\nEstablish architectural standards, design principles, and development best practices.\n\nEnsure platform scalability, maintainability, performance, and long-term sustainability.\n\nEvaluate new modules and capabilities aligned to enterprise strategy.\n\nServe as the final authority on platform design decisions and technical direction.\n\nEnterprise Integrations & Automation\nDefine and lead integration strategy between Service Management Platform and enterprise systems, including HR platforms, financial systems, identity tools, and other core business applications.\n\nArchitect API-driven and event-based integrations ensuring reliability and data integrity.\n\nDesign and oversee end-to-end process automation and workflow orchestration.\n\nDrive automation initiatives to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.\n\nLeverage collaboration platforms such as Slack as workflow interfaces for approvals, notifications, and operational interactions (strongly preferred experience).\n\nDevelopment Team Leadership\nLead, mentor, and manage a team of developers and administrators.\n\nOversee backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and delivery execution.\n\nEnsure adherence to architectural standards and quality controls.\n\nEstablish documentation, testing, and release management discipline across Dev, QA, and Production environments.\n\nSupport talent development and capability building within the team.\n\nCMDB & Change Management Governance\nDesign and govern a robust CMDB framework with clear ownership and lifecycle standards.\n\nEnsure data accuracy, alignment with infrastructure systems, and ongoing data stewardship.\n\nEstablish and mature change management processes and workflows.\n\nSupport audit readiness and compliance requirements.\n\nPlatform Operations & Governance\nEnsure stable day-to-day platform operations and performance optimization.\n\nOversee upgrades, patches, instance strategy, and technical debt management.\n\nEstablish role-based access controls and security governance standards.\n\nDefine KPIs and performance metrics to measure platform effectiveness and value realization.\n\nManage vendor relationship and licensing strategy.\n\nStakeholder & Executive Engagement\nServe as the company’s top SME for Service-Now and other Service Management Platforms and trusted advisor to senior leadership.\n\nPartner with Infrastructure, Security, HR, Finance, and other business leaders to translate needs into scalable platform solutions.\n\nProvide executive reporting on roadmap progress, integration strategy, and platform health.\n\nPromote enterprise adoption, standardization, and process maturity.\n\n Extensive experience architecting and leading ServiceNow or similar platforms in a complex enterprise environment. \nStrong experience integrating ServiceNow or other similar platforms with HR systems, financial platforms, identity providers, and other core enterprise applications.\n\nDeep expertise in workflow automation, orchestration, and API-based integrations.\n\nExperience leveraging Slack or similar collaboration tools as workflow interfaces strongly preferred.\n\nDemonstrated experience managing and developing high-performing technical teams.\n\nStrong knowledge of ITSM processes, CMDB governance, and change management frameworks.\n\nExperience managing multi-environment development lifecycles (Dev/QA/Prod).\n\nStrong executive communication and cross-functional leadership skills.\n\n As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with a VERSANT Media employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
