The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the on-site construction process, equipment deployment, commissioning, and site service activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, and governing all licensed trade workmanship, safety standards, budgets, and timelines. This position demands strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of mission-critical infrastructure.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nProject Oversight: Manage all aspects of construction from site preparation through commissioning for large-scale data center projects.\nLicensing: Obtain and maintain General Contractor’s license on behalf of Vertiv in applicable jurisdictions.\nVendor Management: Oversee general contractors, subcontractors and third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with licensing, scope, schedule, and quality standards.\nSchedule and Budget Management: Monitor construction schedules and budgets, providing regular updates to stakeholders and taking corrective action as needed.\nQuality Assurance: Ensure all construction work complies with company standards, client requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.\nRisk Mitigation: Proactively identify and manage potential risks, safety issues, and design conflicts; implement mitigation strategies promptly.\nEstablish and maintain productive working relationships with GC leadership, superintendents, project managers, MEP trades, and customer representatives.\nAttend daily GC coordination meetings and communicate execution priorities, constraints, and escalation items.\nCoordinate work sequencing between Vertiv resources and GC-controlled activities.\nManage issue resolution related to access, logistics, schedule conflicts, workforce coordination, and trade interfaces.\nParticipate in look-ahead planning and schedule recovery discussions.\nManage Vertiv site personnel, subcontractors, service technicians, and field leadership resources.\nCoordinate manpower requirements to support construction and commissioning milestones.\nEnsure site resources have required access, training, safety certifications, and customer onboarding completed.\nSupport mobilization and demobilization activities.\nMaintain accurate labor forecasts and resource plans.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).\n7+ years of construction management experience.\nStrong understanding of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems and civil/structural construction.\nProven ability to manage large-scale construction projects with values exceeding $20M.\nExcellent knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations.\nFamiliarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, CX Alloy, Primavera, MS Project).\nWillingness to travel extensively within the U.S. and remain on-site for extended durations.\nCurrently holds a General Contractors license in any of the following jurisdictions: Mississippi, Arizona, New Mexico, California, Louisiana, Virginia, and Oregon.\nPreferred Qualifications:3+ years of construction management experience in the mission critical or data center industry.\nPMP, CCM, or equivalent construction/project management certifications.\nExperience with prefabrication, modular builds, or fast-track construction methodologies.\nPrevious experience working for or with Vertiv or similar data center infrastructure providers.\n\nTIME TRAVEL REQUIRED\n50% travel\nThe successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.\nOUR CORE PRINCIPALS: Safety.
