Provides direction to the Pelzer Point management team for the development and implementation of risk reduction solutions, safety best practices, and continuous improvements to drive to zero injuries. Ensures strict compliance with national, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards.\nResponsibilities:\nEstablish, maintain, and promote safety as a Vertiv core value and drive a positive safety culture.\nIdentify and prioritize EHS initiatives in support of business needs.\nCoordinate with Learning and Development team to evaluate, develop, and assist in required EHS training for employees.\nMaintain site safety records, such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Job Hazard Analyses (JSA), and Ergonomic Assessments.\nMaintain incident and injury records and logs as required by OSHA and Vertiv\nSome travel may be required for training and cross-facility inspections and audits \nPerform safety/environmental/housekeeping facility walkthroughs regularly.\nMaintain data collection and reporting systems for EHS metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).\nCoordinate EHS metrics and best practices with the Vertiv Operating System (VOS).\nEnsure new equipment, machines, workstations, and assembly lines are implemented following all applicable safety and environmental regulatory requirements and Vertiv best practices.\nAdvise the EHS leader on facility risks, incidents, actions, programs, and policies. \nMeasure and monitor environmental impacts in conformance with Vertiv’s environmental policy and government regulations.\nEstablish, monitor, enforce, and improve EHS systems, programs, policies, and procedures to reduce or eliminate risk with the goal of zero injuries.\nConduct safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.\nMaintain and assist with the employee safety committee, safety suggestion program, and safety promotional activities.\nAssist in incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.\nSupport the Emergency and Crisis Management Response Program and local Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT)\nConduct audits with facility contractors that come on-site and ensure guidelines are understood.\nNormal work week is day shift Monday-Friday, but some after-hours and weekend work may be required for off-shift training, emergencies, or other special situations.\nQUALIFICATIONS: \nA minimum of 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or warehouse operations \nStrong familiarity with construction activities including rigging and loading.\nStrong organizational and research skills\nStrong analytical skills\nExcellent oral and written communication skills\nStrong customer service skills \nDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.\nDemonstrated leadership, interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to influence necessary levels of management in integrating safe and healthy behaviors in day-day operations.\nFamiliarity with Smartsheet, Excel, Word, and PPT\n\nThe successful candidate will reflect and embrace Vertiv’s Values and Behaviours:\nOUR VALUES\nActing Like an Owner\nAssuming Positive intent in all employee interactions\nBeing passionate about your work\nChallenging yourself in personal development\nBeing tireless in exceeding customer expectations\nAssisting others to be successful as a team\nOwning our own mistakes quickly\nTalking with people and NOT about them\nCreating a culture where people can be their best\nOUR BEHAVIORS\nBe self-aware and learn\nEmbrace the customer experience\nThink and act broadly\nDrive change and innovation\nLeverage diversity for organization effectiveness\nFoster collaborative relationships\nTake intelligent risks\nAbout Vertiv\nVertiv (NYSE: VRT) brings together hardware, software, analytics and ongoing services to enable its customers’ vital applications to run continuously, perform optimally and grow with their business needs.
