This position requires operating heavy lifting equipment, interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, and using a variety of hand and power tools to assemble and install structural systems while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.\nKey Responsibilities\nOperate oversized forklifts, overhead gantry cranes, mobile cranes, and other heavy equipment to safely lift, transport, and position oversized materials and structural components.\nLoad and unload fabricated steel, generators, transformers, LV/MV gear, cooling equipment, and other large infrastructure components.\nRead and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, rigging plans, and installation specifications.\nSet, align, and secure oversized equipment and structural assemblies according to project requirements and tolerances.\nUtilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to assemble, modify, and install structural components.\nPerform rigging activities using chains, slings, shackles, spreader bars, and lifting devices in accordance with approved lifting procedures.\nCoordinate with crane operators, riggers, team coordinators, and supervisors to execute complex lifts safely and efficiently.\nConduct daily equipment inspections on forklifts, cranes, and tools.\nFollow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, fall protection, and lifting protocols.\nMaintain accurate documentation of equipment inspections, lift plans, and completed work.\nAssist with site preparation, material handling, equipment staging, and other construction activities as needed.\nMaintain a clean and organized work area while ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED preferred.\nDemonstrated experience operating oversized forklifts and working around mobile cranes.\nExperience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.\nKnowledge of rigging practices and safe lifting procedures.\nAbility to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting up to 75 pounds, climbing, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.\nAbility to work significant overtime at times and weekends.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMinimum of 1 years of experience operating heavy equipment in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure construction.\nOSHA 10- or 30-Hour Construction certification.\nNCCCO Crane Signal Person and Rigger certifications.\nForklift Operator Certification.\nExperience working on mission-critical facilities or data center construction projects.\nAbility to read and interpret construction blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.\nStrong understanding of OSHA safety regulations and construction best practices.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nSafe operation of oversized forklifts and heavy material handling equipment.\nKnowledge of crane operations and rigging principles.\nAbility to accurately interpret blueprints and layout drawings.\nStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.\nExcellent communication and teamwork abilities.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.\nAbility to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment while maintaining safety standards.\nWork Environment\nThis position is performed primarily on active commercial and industrial construction site. Employees are regularly exposed to changing weather conditions, heavy equipment, elevated work areas, loud noise, dust, and uneven terrain.
