The role focuses on the following core objectives: providing clear visibility into DIO drivers, managing MRP parameters related to inventory, improving our understanding of the connection between DIO performance and Promised Date Service Level (PDSL) OTD-P, and (3) strengthening Excess & Obsolete (E&O) reporting and alignment. The analyst partners with Regional Materials teams, Purchasing, Planning, and Finance to ensure accurate data, proactive shortage identification, and consistent, actionable reporting across sites.\nKey Responsibilities Reporting, Data Preparation & Insights Development\nBuild new and repeatable inventory reports to create visibility into DIO drivers, fast-turning materials, shortages and stockouts, backlog/work order alignment, and delivery frequency.\nPull, clean, and analyze large datasets to ensure data is usable and accurate despite imperfections.\nPrepare concise summaries and dashboards for weekly and monthly inventory reviews.\nConduct first-pass analysis to validate trends or discrepancies before escalating to leadership.\nDIO Support & Visibility into DIO Drivers\nAnalyze what drives DIO up or down each period, including slow movers, PO/WO misalignment, supplier performance, and demand variability.\nBuild datasets that allow leadership to understand key DIO drivers.\nTrack recurring patterns influencing DIO and document findings for cross-functional follow-up.\nProvide insights that help plant teams understand the impact of planning and purchasing on DIO performance.\nMRP Parameter Governance & Optimization\nReview and analyze MRP planning parameters including safety stock, reorder points, fixed lead times, order modifiers, lot sizing, and sourcing attributes to identify opportunities for inventory optimization.\nDevelop reporting that highlights parameter settings contributing to excess inventory, stockouts, shortages, or service level risk.\nPartner with Planning, Purchasing, and Materials teams to monitor parameter accuracy and recommend updates based on demand patterns, lead time performance, and inventory objectives.\nSupport periodic parameter reviews to ensure planning settings remain aligned with current business conditions, supplier performance, and manufacturing requirements.\nIdentify and escalate inconsistent or outdated MRP parameters across sites and drive standardization where appropriate.\nAnalyze the impact of parameter changes on DIO, PDSL, inventory levels, and material availability, providing data-driven recommendations to leadership.\nMaintain governance processes and reporting to track parameter compliance, changes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.\nPDSL Improvement & Shortage Prevention\nDevelop reporting that identifies materials at risk of missing promised delivery dates.\nMonitor fast-turning materials to detect early signs of emerging shortages.\nExcess & Obsolete (E&O) Reporting & Management\nPrepare and refresh E&O reports, consolidating plant and Finance data.\nTrack plant-provided reasons and actions for E&O and identify inconsistencies.\nSupport root-cause investigation for recurring E&O drivers.\nCreate simple trackers and visuals to support leadership reviews.\nQualifications Required Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Analytics, Finance, Engineering, or related field.\n3+ years of post-college experience in analytics, supply chain, operations, or materials.\nStrong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data structuring).\nAbility to analyze large, imperfect datasets.\nStrong communication, organization, and follow-through.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Power BI, Tableau, or Smartsheet.\nExposure to manufacturing, materials planning, purchasing, or inventory management.\nExperience supporting inventory health metrics such as DIO or shortage analysis.\nCompetencies\nDetail-oriented with strong data validation discipline.\nAnalytical and curious-asks ‘why’ behind trends.\nComfortable working through ambiguity and incomplete data.\nStrong follow-through and accountability.\nAbility to partner effectively with plant and cross-functional teams.\nFast learner with system and process
