The role assists with CAD drawing updates, process documentation, equipment and tooling improvements, and projects designed to improve workflow, ergonomics, safety, and productivity. This position provides hands-on support for manufacturing processes and helps implement engineering solutions while developing technical knowledge and applying manufacturing engineering concepts. Reporting to the Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Supervisors, the Mechanical Engineering Technician contributes to creating a safe, efficient, and continuously improving manufacturing environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nPartner with Safety, Health, Operations, and Engineering teams to support production areas with tooling, fixtures, and communication of engineering changes.\nAssist with implementing and sustaining manufacturing processes.\nSupport Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering teams with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives and production readiness activities.\nAssist with equipment specifications, tool improvements, and manufacturing projects.\nSupport Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) documentation and related project activities.\nModify CAD drawings and provide technical support under the guidance of Manufacturing Engineers.\nAssist in analyzing manufacturing and quality issues and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.\nParticipate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.\nSupport safety initiatives and promote compliance with safety standards and best practices.\nAssist with process optimization efforts focused on cost reduction, waste elimination, and operational efficiency improvements.\nCoordinate assigned project activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.\nDevelop, maintain, and improve process documentation, standard work, SOPs, and process control systems.\nLearn and apply manufacturing engineering principles, tools, and continuous improvement methodologies to support operational objectives.\nSupport machinery, tooling, and software appropriation requests through documentation and data collection.\nSupport compliance with company policies, procedures, safety standards, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.\nPerform other related duties and continuous improvement activities as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications\n1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, maintenance, quality, continuous improvement, technical operations, or a related field.\nAbility to learn and apply manufacturing engineering concepts, processes, and tools.\nAbility to read and write technical documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.\nBasic CAD experience or the ability to learn and work with engineering drawings and models.\nExperience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.\nStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to collect, organize, and analyze basic manufacturing data.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and organizational levels.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.\nAbility to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.\nDemonstrated initiative, accountability, and willingness to learn new skills and technologies.\nKnowledge of manufacturing safety practices and quality standards.\nExperience with ERP, MRP, PLM, or similar enterprise systems.\nExposure to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, or problem-solving methodologies.\nExperience with CAD software and technical drawings.\nExperience supporting process improvement, equipment installation, or manufacturing projects.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to move throughout manufacturing and office environments for extended periods.\nFrequent walking, standing, and occasional climbing of stairs and ladders.\nAbility to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform visual inspections of equipment and processes.\nOccasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.\nAbility to use a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment for extended periods.\nMust be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe footwear, and other site-specific PPE.\nAbility to work safely around manufacturing equipment, forklifts, moving machinery, and production operations.\nVisual acuity is sufficient to review technical drawings, specifications, data, and production processes.\nAbility to communicate effectively with employees, contractors, and leadership in both office and production settings.\nWork Environment\nSplit work environment between office and manufacturing production areas.\nExposure to moderate noise, varying temperatures, dust, and other conditions typical of a manufacturing facility.\nOccasional travel between departments, production lines, warehouses, or other company locations as needed.\nThe successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.\nOUR CORE PRINCIPALS: Safety.
