Helps ensure facility is compliant with all local, state, and federal environmental and safety laws and regulations.\nSupport the EHS Manager in all areas of environmental, health, and safety responsibility, including:\nIdentify environmental, health and safety risks and establish, improve, or maintain policies, procedures, and processes to protect employees from those risks.\nSupport corporate EHS goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) and challenge employees and leadership toward improvements in EHS outcomes.\nFollow Vertiv corporate EHS policies and enforce local policies, procedures, and processes as needed.\nPromote a Positive Safety Culture through effective safety awareness and incentive programs.\nLead incident investigations to determine root causes and implement immediate and long-term corrective actions.\nRecord all safety corrective actions and help drive them to completion.\nConduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and Ergonomic Analyses and coordinate implementation of hazard reduction measures, including elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE).\nAssist in all aspects of facility EHS programs, including:Hazard communication\nContractor safety\nIndustrial hygiene (lead, asbestos, etc.)\nHearing conservation\nRespirator protection\nErgonomics\nHealth and wellness\nLOTO\nElectrical safety\nConfined spaces\nHot work\nMachine guarding\nPortable hand and power tools\nForklifts and other powered industrial vehicles\nCranes, hoists, and slings\nStorage racks\nFlammable and combustible liquids\nCompressed gasses\nFire extinguishes and fixed fire protection\nWalking-working surfaces, stairs and ladders, and working at heights\nEmergency action plan\nBloodborne pathogens\nEmergency eyewash and showers\nEmergency exits, emergency lighting, and alarm systems\nEnvironmental compliance, permitting, and air emissions management\nHazardous and non-hazardous waste management\nFacility wastewater management\n\nEnsure strict compliance with all OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and all other relevant local, state, and national regulatory agencies.\nAudit work practices to ensure safety-related policies, procedures, and processes are being followed. \nAssist in creating, conducting, and coordinating training on Hazardous Communications, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Forklift Operations, Ergonomics, Hearing Conservation, and all other relevant EHS topics.\nReport on local EHS metrics and respond to trends in leading and lagging indicators. \nAssist the Health Clinic and Occupational Nurse, including:Workers’ compensation claims management and representing Vertiv at workers’ compensation hearings.\nEmployee wellness initiatives\nMedical Emergency Response Team (MERT) training, equipment, and drills\nApproving work restrictions and monitoring employee injury recovery\nCoordinate with vendors for employee safety shoe and prescription safety glasses programs\nCoordinate hearing conservation program testing\n\nAssist in maintaining facility organization and cleanliness through the Vertiv Operating System (VOS), 5S, and Lean manufacturing programs.\nHelp coordinate emergency response and natural disaster training and drills per Vertiv and local requirements.\nAssist in the management of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams, storage, and shipments.\nAssist in the management of the facility air emissions inventory and ensure all required emissions calculations and reports are submitted on time.\nAssist in the management of all hazardous materials brought on site, including approvals, labeling, storage, safety handling, and disposal.\nCoordinate and participate in safety orientation for all new Vertiv employees, temporary employees, and contract employees. \nThe successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.\nOUR CORE PRINCIPALS: Safety.
