This is an individual contributor role responsible for establishing a resilient, cost-effective, and scalable supply chain for new products by driving early supplier engagement, sourcing strategy execution, and procurement readiness throughout the NPDI phase-gate process.\nResponsibilities:\nProject Ownership and Cross-Functional Alignment\nServe as the primary Procurement representative for assigned projects from early concept through production readiness.\nEnsure procurement deliverables are planned, tracked, and executed in alignment with NPDI phase-gate requirements.\nRepresent Procurement at NPDI gate reviews, providing clear visibility into sourcing maturity, gaps, and mitigations.\nTrack and report key metrics such as cost, lead time, supplier performance, and launch readiness.\nPartner closely with Engineering, Program Management, Commodity Management, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure sourcing strategies support overall project objectives.\nAct as the primary escalation point for procurement related risks impacting cost, schedule, or supply resilience.\nEarly Supplier Engagement and Sourcing Strategy\nEngage proactively with Engineering to understand component requirements early in the design process.\nEngage suppliers early to assess technical capability, capacity, cost drivers, and lead time expectations.\nSend early RFQs/RFPs ahead of design release and drive competitive bidding to achieve cost targets.\nFacilitate collaboration between Engineering and suppliers to improve design for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and supply flexibility.\nEstablish strong supplier partnerships to drive innovation, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.\nEnsure sourcing approaches align with established commodity strategies and preferred supplier frameworks.\nCost, Risk, and Supply Chain Readiness\nSupport prototype, pilot, and pre-production builds, ensuring on-time availability of materials and services.\nEnsure sourcing aligns with NPDI resilience expectations (multi-source, regional manufacturing, avoidance of single-point failures).\nUse standardized BOM cost and risk tracking tools to maintain consistency and transparency.\nPromote reuse of existing, qualified components and architectures where feasible to improve cost, availability, and time-to-market.\nDrive sourcing maturity and readiness prior to product release to minimize disruption during ramp up and production.\nQualifications:\nAn ideal candidate will bring…\nExperience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Chain, supporting new product or engineering driven programs.\nExperience working closely with Engineering teams during early product development.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to influence across functions without direct authority.\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross functional environment.\nExperience supporting global supply chains and multiple manufacturing regions.\nFamiliarity with phase-gate or structured product development processes.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Electronic), Supply Chain
