This role operates in a fast-paced, engineering-driven environment where accuracy, coordination, and execution are critical to delivering mission-critical infrastructure.\nThis position requires a self-directed, technically capable engineer who can manage complex engineered-to-order (ETO) projects while driving alignment across engineering, operations, and customer teams.\nAbout the Role\nThe Project Engineer is responsible for leading projects from engineering handoff through manufacturing and delivery, ensuring all technical requirements are clearly defined, aligned, and executed across cross-functional teams.\nThis role manages scope, schedule, technical coordination, and risk, while serving as the primary point of contact for technical communication between internal teams and customers.\nKey Responsibilities\nEnd-to-End Project Execution: Own execution from engineering handoff through production and delivery, ensuring scope, quality, and customer requirements are met.\nCross-Functional Coordination: Drive alignment between electrical, mechanical, and controls engineering to ensure designs are complete, accurate, and ready for release.\nTechnical Point of Contact: Serve as the primary interface for technical discussions with internal teams and customers, ensuring clarity on requirements, deviations, and resolutions.\nDesign Review Leadership: Facilitate internal and customer design reviews to validate compliance with project requirements, constructability, and applicable standards.\nCode and Compliance Oversight: Ensure designs align with NEC, IEEE, UL 891, and UL 1558, as well as customer specifications and internal quality standards.\nDesign Package Ownership: Review, approve, and maintain the complete drawing package for assigned projects including single line diagrams, circuit diagrams, GA drawings, breaker and cable schedules, BOM, and label drawings; ensure inter-document consistency and standards compliance before release for manufacture.\nERP and Data Management: Navigate ERP systems such as Oracle and IFS to track project status, monitor BOM accuracy, and maintain data integrity.\nProject Metrics and Reporting: Track and report on key indicators including design quality, change order volume, cycle time, and issue resolution performance.\nChange Order Management: Own the change order process including documentation, impact assessment across cost, schedule, and manufacturing, and communication to all stakeholders.\nRisk Identification and Resolution: Proactively identify technical risks and drive timely resolution across engineering and operations teams.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred; Mechanical accepted)\n5+ years of experience in project or design engineering for low-voltage switchgear, switchboards\nStrong understanding of low-voltage power distribution systems, including UL 891 switchboards and/or UL 1558 switchgear\nFamiliarity with design tools such as AutoCAD, SEE Electrical, and/or SolidWorks\nExperience with project tracking tools such as Smartsheet\nStrong communication, time management, and cross-functional collaboration skills\nExperience navigating ERP systems such as Oracle and IFS to track BOMs, project data, and execution status\nWork Environment\nBased in Anderson, SC with occasional travel to manufacturing facilities and customer sites as required\nMay require extended hours during critical project phases and customer delivery timelines","description_format":"text","description_chars":3764,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":true},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Servers & Data Center Hardware","Power Supplies & Power Electronics","HVAC & Refrigeration"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-29T02:54:33Z"}],"liveness":{"score":41,"band":"fade","label":"Fading","p_open":1,"p_active":0.551,"p_room":0.75,"age_days":2,"expected_fill_days":3,"reasons":["conf:2","stale_co","velocity","win:late","comp:brand"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/vertiv-project-engineer-5","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/vertiv-project-engineer-5.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T19:49:44Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":2429,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":2571,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
