You will have an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to Power & Thermal design in Asia markets.\nResponsibilities\nReporting to the Manager, Pre-Sales Application Engineering.\nThe Senior Application Engineer (SAE) is responsible for providing technical leadership in the design, application, optimization, and proposal development of data center thermal infrastructure solutions. The role acts as the technical focal point for Cooling, CRAC, CRAH, Chilled Water Systems, In-Row Cooling, Liquid Cooling, Containment, and Thermal Management solutions supporting sales pursuits, bid activities, consultant engagement, and customer projects.\nThe Senior Thermal Application Engineer leads complex solution development, drives technical competitiveness, mentors junior engineers, and ensures high-quality engineering deliverables that balance compliance, performance, risk, and profitability. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:\nTechnical Solution Leadership\nLead thermal solution design for medium to large-scale data center opportunities.\nDevelop optimized cooling architectures based on customer requirements and design objectives.\nEvaluate alternative solutions to improve competitiveness, efficiency, and lifecycle performance.\nEnsure technical compliance with specifications, standards, and customer requirements.\nProvide technical ownership for complex thermal projects and strategic bids.\nApplication Engineering\nPerform cooling capacity calculations and equipment sizing.\nDevelop cooling system layouts and thermal infrastructure architecture.\nReview and validate:Heat load calculations\nCooling redundancy designs\nAirflow management strategies\nChilled water system configurations\nLiquid cooling system designs\n\nSupport CFD analysis and interpretation of thermal performance studies.\nEnsure engineering deliverables meet quality and accuracy requirements.\nBid & Proposal Support\nLead technical solution development for tender and bid submissions.\nOwn thermal engineering deliverables including:Technical proposals\nCompliance matrices\nDatasheets\nBOMs\nDesign drawings\nTechnical clarifications\n\nSupport value engineering initiatives to improve win rate and margin performance.\nParticipate in technical reviews and risk assessments before submission.\nCustomer & Consultant Engagement\nConduct technical presentations and solution workshops.\nEngage consultants during specification development and design stages.\nSupport sales teams in customer meetings, technical discussions, and bid clarification sessions.\nAct as a trusted advisor on thermal infrastructure and cooling technologies.\nInfluence solution specifications toward Vertiv technologies and best practices.\nTechnical Risk Management\nIdentify technical risks associated with proposed solutions.\nEvaluate non-standard requirements and custom configurations.\nRecommend mitigation plans for design, performance, or delivery risks.\nEscalate critical risks to management and appropriate stakeholders.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with:Sales Teams\nBid Management\nProduct Management\nFactory Engineering\nProcurement\nService Teams\nRegional Application Engineering Teams\n\nto ensure successful solution development and customer support.\nInnovation & Competitiveness\nDrive solution standardization and reusable design frameworks.\nEvaluate emerging cooling technologies, including:Direct-to-chip liquid cooling\nRear door heat exchangers\nImmersion cooling\nHigh-density AI infrastructure cooling\n\nProvide market intelligence on competitor thermal solutions.\nSupport development of tools, calculators, design guides, and engineering standards.\nTeam Development & Technical Mentorship\nMentor Application Engineers and junior thermal engineers.\nConduct technical coaching and knowledge-sharing sessions.\nSupport competency development across the Application Engineering organization.\nReview engineering outputs and provide technical guidance.\nRequired Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities\nProven exposure and track record as follows:\nDisplay a proactive flexible approach to working within a team environment. \nUniversity/College Degree or professional qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Major in Refrigeration, or HVAC is preferable.\nMinimum 3~5 years’ experience in related application & technical field.
