This person will provide technical expertise in the testing of a distributed control system supervisor including subsystems for user interfaces, databases, security conformance, and network communications. Work will include test planning, creation of test cases, test execution, and maintenance of test hardware. A successful candidate will have experience in any of the following areas: UI testing, test automation, requirements review, test planning, network protocols.\nResponsibilities\nCollaborate with other engineering groups, team leads, and product management to ensure software meets product requirements. \nCreate product test plans and test cases from product requirements.\nAnalyze, troubleshoot, and debug test software and product interactions. \nDevelop test environments for devices under test.\nDocument technical issues and solutions.\nProvide clear and detailed written reports of bugs and report steps to the development team.\nSuggest fixes and improvements.\nReport activities, project status, and plans to team lead and management.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent with strong emphasis on software: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering\n3+ years of software testing experience\nFamiliarity with various testing techniques\nExperience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test reports\nExperience with defect tracking systems\nExperience with a test case management \nExperience with testing of REST based APIs using Postman or similar\nExperience with Git source control\nExperience working in Agile development life cycle\nExperience with Microsoft SQL Server relational databases and query authoring is a plus\nExperience with TCP/IP networking and Wireshark is a plus\nModbus, BACnet, or SNMP experience is a plus\nExperience with developing test automation a plus\nAble to learn and pick up new technologies quickly\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly\nAbout Vertiv\nVertiv is a $5.0 billion global critical infrastructure and data center technology company.
