We support today’s growing mobile and cloud computing markets with a portfolio of power, thermal and infrastructure management solutions.\nJob Summary\nVertiv is seeking a Lead Engineer, Components to be part of Vertiv’s Core Engineering Electronics team. The team includes groups based in both the United States and India and consists of 30+ engineers. The team is responsible for the development and maintenance of electronic circuit boards in support of products of multiple global lines of business, as well as the support for Vertiv’s global electronics component libraries.\nThe Lead Component Engineer is responsible for the technical governance, selection, qualification, and lifecycle management of electronic components used in product designs. This role ensures component reliability, availability, compliance, and cost effectiveness across current and future platforms, while reducing supply-chain and obsolescence risk.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide guidance to component engineers for processes and priorities.\nMain point of contact for component engineering related inquiries and support.\nEvaluate, select, and approve electronic components (passives, semiconductors, connectors, electromechanical).\nMonitor component lifecycle status (NRND, EOL, PCN, PDN). Track and respond to component availability issues.\nLead mitigation strategies for obsolescence and supply risk.\nDrive second-source and form-fit-function replacement strategies.\nEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements (RoHS, REACH, conflict minerals).\nMaintain component databases, datasheets, and qualification records.\nAdd alternates and create changes using the PD Cloud or Teamcenter PLM system.\nLeverage AI and automation tools to reduce time to market, improve quality, and reduce cost.\nWork in coordination with international design teams, external suppliers and consultants as appropriate. \nCollaborate with development engineering and test engineering around the globe.
