integrated power/thermal systems.\nProduct Scope Product FamilyScope\n\nVertiv Thermal Products\nCRAC units; fan walls; AHUs; XDUs; chillers; air cooling; liquid cooling; heat rejection/reuse equipment; controls and related cooling-system documentation.\n\n Interface with Electrical\nElectrical cabinets, control panels, and integrated power/thermal solutions, in coordination with the Electrical Code Compliance engineer.\n\nKey Responsibilities Thermal Product Compliance\nReview thermal product designs and documentation for CRAC, fan wall, AHU, XDU, chiller, air cooling, liquid cooling, heat rejection, and heat reuse systems.\nConduct compliance review of submittals, airflow summaries, unit drawings, component performance, fan data, filter data, electrical cabinet heat calculations, safety notes, and component specification sheets.\nEnsure thermal product designs comply with applicable HVAC/thermal equipment safety standards (including UL 1995 and UL/IEC 60335-2-40), UL 508A for associated control panels, customer specifications, and regional regulatory expectations.\nVerify alignment with pressure-equipment requirements (PED, ASME) for chillers and pressurized refrigerant/hydronic circuits, and with AHRI performance certification and ASHRAE 90.1 efficiency requirements where applicable.\nRefrigerant & Regulatory Readiness\nLead refrigerant compliance reviews for cooling products, including refrigerant safety classification, charge limits, and system safety requirements under ASHRAE 15 / ASHRAE 34 and UL/IEC 60335-2-40.\nTrack and assess low-GWP refrigerant transition requirements, including the EU F-gas Regulation and US EPA refrigerant rules, and their impact on current and planned products.\nSupport LEED and BREEAM credit documentation for thermal products used in data center projects, where applicable.\nTesting, Commissioning & Field Documentation\nReview and verify testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting documentation, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Site Acceptance Test procedures, and incident documentation where relevant to compliance deliverables.\nStandards & Certification Support\nInterpret and apply applicable product safety, environmental, and regional standards during NPD, sustaining engineering, customer projects, product changes, and product release activities.\nConduct compliance assessments during design reviews with engineering, product management, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and business unit teams to identify risks early and drive corrective actions.\nMaintain compliance checklists, standards matrices, technical justifications, evidence packages, compliance reports, and audit-ready documentation.\nCoordinate with internal compliance teams, certification bodies, suppliers, and product teams on certification evidence, product approvals, component changes, and change-impact assessments on existing certifications.\nCollaborate with the Electrical Code Compliance engineer on shared product content and on integrated power/thermal system compliance.\nCompliance Oversight & Authority\nAct as the compliance checkpoint at key product development milestones (concept, design freeze, pre-certification, and pre-release) for thermal product lines.\nApprove compliance deliverables or place them on hold where non-conformances exist, and recommend rejection; final release decisions on unresolved items are escalated to engineering leadership.\nMaintain a non-compliance and corrective-action tracking log, and produce periodic compliance status reports for engineering leadership and management.\nEscalate unresolved compliance risks to senior management when product teams do not close identified non-conformances within agreed timelines.\nMonitor changes to applicable standards, codes, and regulations, and assess their impact on current and upcoming thermal product lines.\nConduct compliance awareness sessions and provide guidance to product engineering teams on new or updated standards and regulatory requirements.\nRequired Qualifications AreaRequirement\n\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or related engineering discipline.\n\nExperience\n5-10 years of experience in thermal/HVAC product engineering, compliance engineering, product safety, certification support, or code compliance.\n\nProduct exposure\nExperience with HVAC systems, CRAC, AHU, fan wall, XDU, chiller, liquid cooling, or data center cooling infrastructure products.\n\nThermal capability\nUnderstanding of thermal product operation, refrigeration cycles, airflow, cooling performance, hydronic/hydraulic/pneumatic fundamentals, and data center cooling principles.\n\nElectrical awareness\nWorking understanding of electrical cabinets, control panels, and component data sufficient to review electrical cabinet heat calculations and safety notes on thermal products.\n\nStandards knowledge\nWorking knowledge of UL 1995, UL/IEC 60335-2-40, ASHRAE 15/34, refrigerant regulations, pressure-equipment requirements, and UL, CSA, IEC, and CE requirements relevant to the product scope.\n\nDocumentation\nAbility to prepare compliance matrices, design review notes, certification
