This role ensures consistent quality performance across all shifts, manages personnel scheduling and training, coordinates Factory Witness Tests for customers, and drives defect reduction through data-driven analysis and continuous improvement.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nLeadership & Workforce Management\nLead in identification and demonstration of safe work performance.\nSupervise Team Coordinators and Quality Technicians across 24-hour operations.\nDevelop and maintain shift schedules to ensure full facility coverage.\nManage staffing adjustments, PTO, overtime planning, and emergency coverage.\nSchedule and track employee training, certifications, and competency development.\nEnsure personnel are trained on test standards, inspection methods, and quality software tools.\nQuality Systems & Compliance\nEnsure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality management systems.\nOversee documentation of inspections, test results, nonconformances, and corrective actions.\nMaintain audit readiness and support internal and external audits.\nFactory Witness Testing & Customer Support\nSchedule and coordinate Factory Witness Tests (FWT) with customers.\nPrepare test environments, documentation, and personnel for customer visits.\nTrain and support employees on FWT standards, protocols, and required software systems.\nServe as the quality liaison during customer audits and test activities.\nTechnical Oversight & Problem Solving\nLead real-time containment, investigation, and resolution of quality issues.\nCollaborate with Engineering and Production on process changes and new product introductions.\nEnsure calibration and functionality of inspection and testing equipment.\nDefect Tracking, Analysis & Reporting\nTrack and analyze defects, scrap, rework, and process deviations.\nPrepare and present defect trends and improvement opportunities to manufacturing & facility leadership.\nIdentify systemic issues and drive corrective and preventive actions using structured problem-solving tools.\nContinuous Improvement\nLead or participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis activities.\nSupport cross-functional kaizen events and quality improvement initiatives.\nReinforce process discipline, standard work, and quality expectations.\nCommunication & Coordination\nServe as the primary quality contact for shift operations.\nEnsure effective shift handoffs and communication of quality priorities.\nProvide clear, data-driven updates to leadership and cross-functional teams.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nPrevious manufacturing & quality experience; supervisory experience strongly preferred.\nStrong knowledge of quality systems and technical specifications \nExcellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.\nCOMPETENCIES\nTechnical aptitude and ability to interpret complex drawings and test data.\nStrong analytical and data presentation skills.\nEffective leadership in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.\nCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.\nPERFORMANCE INDICATORS\nShift coverage reliability and training completion rates.\nAccuracy and timeliness of Factory Witness Test scheduling and execution.\nReduction in defects, scrap, and rework.\nQuality metric reporting clarity and effectiveness.\nTeam engagement, capability growth, and audit performance.\nWORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS\nThis individual is expected to work the hours necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
