The role involves working across Vertiv’s busbar line of business to support the use of standard designs, tools, and processes.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nCollaborate with sales and project teams to understand customer requirements and assist in developing technical solutions aligned with standard, type-tested product offerings.\nSupport the preparation and review of technical drawing submissions from the mechanical engineering team prior to release.\nAssist in the development and maintenance of standardized engineering documentation, including drawings and BOMs.\nParticipate in cross-functional problem-solving activities to support improvements in engineering and project performance.\nPrepare design drawings and documentation in line with specifications for Busbar packages to support project delivery teams.\nSupport plant-to-plant product transfers and new product development initiatives as needed.\nAssist with technical reviews prior to production release to ensure accuracy and compliance.\nProvide support for technical issues across projects and plants, escalating complex issues as required.\nSupport the evaluation of custom and first-of-a-kind projects in coordination with senior engineers and the NPDI team.\nBalance technical requirements with cost, manufacturability, and project timelines under guidance.\nMaintain engineering best practices and contribute to standardization and design reuse efforts.\nSupport global projects that may involve multiple code or regional requirements.\n\nREQUIREMENTS\nKnowledge of busway products (preferred)\nPC working knowledge (MS Office, CAD, PDM systems, ERP systems) \nStrong Technical and Mechanical aptitude\nAptitude for problem-solving\nStrong communication skills to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization. \nDisplay a proactive flexible approach to working within a team environment.\nAdvantage: BIM & 3D drawing packages (Solidworks & Revit)\nAbility to self-manage, be self-motivated and deliver project milestones.\nInnovative problem-solving skills\nPerform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis, design, while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, and other pertinent information.\nReview and analyze a variety of engineering data, documents, and reports.\nPrepare design models for the new project using available design tools and programming, work with sales team, project management, and customers.\nParticipate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.\nOwn the preparation of necessary design instructions for mechanical design and electrical drafters.\nPrepare Bill of Material for Busbar Assemblies using available tools.\nPrepare shop drawings and other related documents for Production.\nActively engage in sorting out any issues on the production floor and at site.\nPrepare replies to customer comments on technical submittals in coordination with project management.\nAttend meeting with customers/contractors/consultants for technical discussions.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree (4-year) in an engineering-related field (minimum)\nDegree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (preferred)\nExperience or exposure to low voltage switchgear or busway design (preferred)\nBasic experience with AutoCAD (preferred)\nFamiliarity with UL codes and standards (preferred)\nGood organizational and planning skills\nTeam-oriented mindset\nStrong willingness to learn and share knowledge\nOpen to feedback and new ideas\nProactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to participate in technical discussions with customers and internal teams\nPHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS\nN/A\nTIME TRAVEL REQUIRED\nUp to 10% required\nThe successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.\nOUR CORE PRINCIPLES: Safety.
