These products span electrical and mechanical disciplines and include UPS Systems, Energy Storage Solutions, Building & Cabinet Power Distribution and future emerging technologies within the Power Services portfolio.\nPerform training of field service associates, customers, and service partners on all UPS, power, and monitoring systems. Responsible for preparing, conducting, and evaluating technical training programs. Write literature and materials to be used in training programs and design exercises to enhance lectures. Conduct classes regarding safety, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of software, machinery, and equipment.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\nInstruct field service safety and technical classes on UPS, power distribution, and monitoring systems.Prepare classrooms and lab areas.\nDeliver classroom and virtual training to a variety of audiences of various experience levels.\nAdapt course materials to support virtual training environments.\nCreate real-world, relevant training scenarios based on knowledge and experience gained over time.\nModify training delivery based on experience level of the audience.\nModel and enforce Vertiv safety guidelines at all times.\nMaintain and enforce classroom conduct in accordance with published policies. \n\n Drive the creation of relevant course materials.Provide support for course development efforts, including product research, providing subject matter expertise, and training content review.\nCreate, update, and maintain teaching material and lab exercises based on feedback from Field Operations, Technical support, Engineering, and student surveys.\nParticipate in New Product Development (NPD) activities.\nPerform training needs analyses.\nIncorporate change notices and safety bulletins into training materials in a timely manner.\n\nMaintain classrooms and training lab equipment in good working condition.Assist in the management of lab equipment and lab activities.\nMaintain safety and test equipment in proper working order and update tracking lists.\nMaintain tools, spare parts, and lab equipment in proper working order.\nMaintain the classrooms and lab areas.\n\nContinuous Improvement:Review and integrate feedback from installation teams to continually enhance training programs and methodologies. \nExplore and implement new training techniques and approaches based on lessons learned and industry advancements. \nAttend professional development opportunities and industry conferences to stay abreast of evolving installation practices and technologies. \n\nAdministrative Duties and Travel:Complete all administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner, including travel-related documentation such as expense reports and trip reports. \nConduct thorough evaluations of training sessions to assess effectiveness and gather insights for improvement. \nOrder training supplies and materials to enhance instruction programs.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTwo year electrical/electronic technical degree or equivalent training/field experience.\n5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical and/or mechanical installation, commissioning, or field service within data center, industrial, or commercial environments.\nStrong working knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, including switchgear, busway/busbar, UPS and Energy Storage infrastructure. \nExcellent written & verbal communication skills with an emphasis on presentation and facilitation skills for both the classroom and lab environments.\nKnowledge of, and experience with, adult learning theory and principles or equivalent military trainer experience. \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical content clearly to adult learners.\nStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and work independently.\nProficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and virtual training platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams).\nPositive attitude, adaptability, and comfort operating in a fast-changing, product-launch-driven environment.\nPHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS\nWhile performing duties of the above jobs, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell.
