The engineer works closely with Customer Engineers, commissioning teams, service operations, product offering, engineering, quality, factories and customers throughout Asia Pacific.\nThis is not a traditional helpdesk role. The position requires strong electrical and power-electronics knowledge, practical field experience and the ability to understand interactions across complete electrical systems rather than individual pieces of equipment.\nKey Responsibilities\nTake technical ownership of complex faults and escalations through to resolution.\nAnalyse alarms, event logs, waveforms, measurements, settings and operating sequences.\nLead technical investigations and Root Cause Analysis, identifying equipment, installation, application, configuration and system-level causes.\nProvide remote and onsite support during troubleshooting, commissioning, integrated system testing and critical site events.\nReview commissioning procedures, test scripts and technical documentation.\nCoordinate escalations with Engineering, Quality, Product Management and manufacturing facilities.\nSupport New Product Development Introduction, first-of-type installations and regional technical readiness.\nDevelop service procedures, troubleshooting guides, technical advisories, service bulletins, training material and customer technical reports.\nDeliver technical training, practical fault scenarios and mentoring to field personnel.\nIdentify recurring field issues and support permanent corrective actions and continuous product improvement.\nProvide technical input into spare-parts strategy, obsolescence and end-of-life support.\nMaintain a strong focus on electrical safety including isolation, backfeed, stored energy, arc-flash, earthing, bonding and high-energy DC systems.\nProduct & System Scope\nThe role supports a broad portfolio of critical power technologies, including:\nAC Critical Power: Large, medium, small and modular UPS systems; Static Transfer Switches; automatic/manual transfer systems; Active Harmonic Filters; AC distribution; generator integration and power-quality systems.\nDC Critical Power: TELCO DC rectifier systems including 48/54 VDC architectures; high-voltage DC rectifiers including 400 VDC and 800 VDC systems; DC distribution, battery and protection systems.\nElectrical Distribution: LV switchboards, protection systems, busway and busbar distribution.\nEnergy Storage: VRLA and lithium-ion batteries, battery monitoring, Battery Energy Storage Systems and associated controls.\nEmerging Technologies: MV UPS, Solid State Transformer systems, high-frequency power conversion and other emerging critical-power technologies.\nTechnical Capability\nThe successful candidate should demonstrate strong knowledge of:\nThree-phase electrical systems and power electronics.\nElectrical schematics, single-line diagrams and wiring diagrams.\nRectifier and inverter operation and control.\nUPS, generator, transformer and load interaction.\nPower-quality analysis including harmonics, THDv, THDi, TDD, power factor, voltage disturbances and resonance.\nAC and DC protection, isolation, earthing and backfeed conditions.\nEvent-log, waveform and Power Quality Analyser interpretation.\nIntegrated system testing and complex fault finding.\nApplicable IEC, IEEE and local electrical standards.\nQualifications & Experience\nElectrical Engineering qualification, electrical trade qualification with significant relevant experience, or equivalent industry experience.\nExperience in critical power, data centres or telecommunications is highly desirable, particularly with UPS systems, TELCO rectifiers, 400-800 VDC systems, STS, generators, switchboards, busway, battery systems, energy storage or power-quality equipment.\nThe successful candidate will demonstrate methodical troubleshooting, strong technical judgement, ownership through to closure, clear customer communication and the ability to remain effective during critical site events.\nRegional travel throughout Asia Pacific may be required for technical escalations, root cause investigations, first-of-type installations, factory activities and technical training.\nRole Outcome\nResolve complex technical issues safely, accurately and efficiently while increasing the capability of the wider service organisation and ensuring lessons from the field are converted into improved products, procedures, training and service
