The employee may study and record the time, motion, method, and speed involved in performance of production operations for such purposes as establishing standard production rates, improving efficiency, and designing effective quality assurance operating procedures. The employee may be assigned to system level processes or specific customer related assignments. The skills of the Quality Engineer must be of the highest caliber and on a level consistent with those employees doing similar work employed at similar operations. Productivity, efficiency, and minimal waste are critical elements of daily operational work for this position.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nInterpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards and associated documentation.\nMonitor and recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards, procedures, processes, or documentation to achieve optimum quality.\nEvaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.\nPrepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.\nRecord data applying statistical quality control procedures.\nCompile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.\nWork with customer representatives to address nonconformance/MRB activity and corrective actions.\nAid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, or anticipated delays.\nConfirm that all standard operating procedures are being completed. Confirm that all operations comply with all state and federal laws for safety and labor compliance.\nPerform system internal audits to assess the health of the company Quality Management System.\nKnowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.\nPerform other related duties as assigned or related to position.\nPosition Requirements\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEducation and Experience:\nEducation: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and/or equivalent years of experience.\nExperience: 1 Year experience working in the Quality Department \nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\n Physical Abilities:\nThe employee must be to work physically in an office and production area. Employee may sit at a keyboard for long periods of time. In the production floor the employee might be exposed to a noisy or dusty and have materials such as metal shavings on the floor with ambient temperatures that are warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter. \nKnowledge:\nAdvanced knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.\nKnowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.\nKnowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.\nKnowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and implementation of processes and procedures for various goods and services.\nProfessional and Interpersonal skills:\nKnowledge of business and management principles involved in leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.\nKnowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
