Delphi Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, support, and enhance existing applications developed using Delphi/Object Pascal.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, fix bugs, and ensure reliable application performance.
• Manage and support Windows services running across virtual machines.
• Work with Firebird databases, write and optimize SQL queries, and resolve database-related issues.
• Analyze legacy code, identify dependencies, and understand existing system architecture where documentation is limited.
• Review and improve the existing installer and manual deployment process.
• Document application architecture, configurations, deployment steps, troubleshooting procedures, and technical changes.
• Plan and execute a gradual migration of legacy Delphi applications to C#/. NET.
• Collaborate with database administrators, infrastructure teams, . NET developers, testers, and hosting partners to resolve technical issues.
• Follow secure access practices, manage application credentials safely, and maintain appropriate permissions.
• · Use Git for version control and follow established change management and release processes.
• Support knowledge transfer and ensure smooth handover of application maintenance and support activities.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Delphi/Object Pascal.
• Experience with Firebird Database and SQL queries.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Services and application support across virtual machines.
• Experience in legacy application maintenance, debugging, troubleshooting, and bug fixing.
• Ability to understand existing codebases, system dependencies, and undocumented applications.
• Experience with application installation, configuration, deployment, and release processes.
• Familiarity with Git and version control practices.
• Understanding of secure access management, permissions, and application credential handling.
• Strong documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with developers, database teams, testers, and infrastructure teams.
• C#/. NET knowledge is an added advantage for gradual migration from Delphi to. NET.
