As a Mid-Level Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for improving the quality and reliability of our software applications through meticulous functional testing techniques. Your primary focus will be to identify and define testing scenarios, verify application readiness and report defects, test bug fixes, and contribute to improving our products and processes. Specific projects may need automation skills at either UI or API layers.\nType of engagement: Freelancer\nStatus: Approximately 40 hours/week\nProject duration: 6+ months, depending on project\nLocation: LatAm\nResponsibilities & Expectations \nFunctional Testing: Conduct thorough functional testing of our software applications to verify they meet the specified requirements and deliver a flawless user experience.\nTest Case development and maintenance: Create comprehensive and well-structured test cases based on functional specifications, design and requirements documents. Maintain accurate testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test data case management tools (Testmo for instance).\nTest Execution: Execute test cases to verify the functionality, usability, and reliability of software products. Check application readiness across different platforms and devices. Execute UI or API automated tests and evaluate its results. Inform stakeholders about testing results. Testing experience with cross browser tools like BrowserStack. \nDefine testing plans depending on the application release, environment and features to be included with test data definition.\nDefect identification, reporting and tracking: Identify and accurately document software defects and issues, including steps to reproduce, and report them in a clear and concise manner. Perform root cause analysis of identified issues. Monitor and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle.Define defects priority and severity accordingly. \n\nRegression Testing: Conduct regression testing to ensure that previously identified issues have been resolved and that new changes do not introduce new defects.\nAbility to operate autonomously in the definition and execution of testing plans along with any found issues identified.\nCollaboration and team player: Collaborate with developers, product managers, clients, and other cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and prompt resolution of issues. Document and share best practices and lessons learned with the rest of the team.\nContinuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and best practices to enhance overall product quality.\nQualifications:\nAt least 3 years of experience as Quality Engineer.\nFunctional Testing Expertise: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with functional testing techniques, including test case design, test execution, defect reporting, and regression testing.\nAnalytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think critically and analyze complex scenarios to design effective test cases.\nAbility to plan and operate independently.\nAttention to detail: Meticulous and thorough in verifying application behavior and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of test cases and documentation.\nProblem-Solving Skills: Proven problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, investigate defects, and propose solutions.\nTeam Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.\nAdaptability: Flexibility to quickly adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.\nTesting Tools: Proven ability with testing tools and software, such as bug tracking systems and test case management tools.
