Project work and assignments may be broad in nature requiring ingenuity and cross functional coordination.\nWhat You Will Do:\nMaintains active awareness of technical, business and management developments affecting present and potential customers and communicates this information promptly to the appropriate senior level managers. \nServes as Account Manager to designated and potential customers and actively promotes the services and capabilities of ABS throughout the business community. \nProvides day-to-day leadership of Engineering staff assigned. Assigns projects to Engineers/Senior Engineers and monitors the progress of all assigned projects. Ensures the delivery of high quality service and maintenance of good customer relations. \nDevelops suggested Rule changes and/or Rule development projects as assigned. Advises assigned staff in matters related to the application of Rules and Regulations. \nAdvises managers of short- and long-term manpower needs in order to insure that qualified, trained technical staff are available as needs arise and identifies associated training needs. \nAppraises the performance and development potential of subordinates. \nDevelops or assists in the development of qualification statements, proposals and bids; makes presentation of these materials to prospective clients when necessary. \nEnsures accurate billing to clients in a timely manner. \nWhat You Will Need:\nEducation and Experience\nThe following are new hire requirements for university graduates and experienced engineers from industry:\nGraduate from University (A or B, and C) and a minimum of 15 years of related industry experience.For those with Hull backgroundsB.S. degree in Civil, Structural Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering or other related disciplines; an M.S. is preferred\nDemonstrated computer literacy in engineering software \nExposed to Finite Element Method (course work or supervised research)\n\nFor those with Machinery backgroundsB.S. degree in Marine, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other related disciplines; an M.S. is preferred \n\nFor those with either Hull or Machinery backgroundPreference for graduates from a marine-industry recognized college or university\nGood command of English language\n\nII.
