Working in partnership with the Vestas Construction Manager, Customer representatives, and BOP installation contractors, this role provides technical guidance, field support, procedural clarification, and troubleshooting expertise to help ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Vestas procedures and quality standards.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide technical leadership and support for turbine installation, mechanical completion, and commissioning activities throughout project execution.\nServe as the primary technical interface between Vestas and customer representatives during project execution.• Communicate project status, schedules, technical specifications, quality concerns, and operational risks through meetings, emails, phone calls, text messaging, and formal Requests for Information (RFI).• Maintain working knowledge of Turbine Supply Agreements (TSA), project contracts, and commercial obligations.\nSupport Contract Specialists, Project Managers, and Project Controls personnel by identifying technical or schedule-related commercial risks.\nDevelop and adjust manpower plans based on changing project schedules, weather conditions, staffing challenges, and construction priorities.\nCoordinate technician staffing requirements with Resource Managers and regional leadership.\nProvide feedback regarding technician performance, training needs, qualifications, and developmental opportunities.\nPrioritize personnel safety above equipment, schedule, and production objectives.\nServe as Site Energy Control Coordinator (ECC) or delegate ECC responsibilities as required.\nEvaluate worksite conditions and stop work activities when safety, quality, or procedural compliance concerns are identified.\nSupport site leadership in planning, coordination, risk mitigation, and execution strategy development.\nRead, interpret, and implement Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) requirements, Technical Notices, CIM communications, and project-specific directives.\nCoordinate with SCADA specialists, plant network engineers, and customer substation personnel throughout substation commissioning activities.\nSupport installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of VOB and PPC systems within the control house.\nTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, controls, and software-related issues during installation and commissioning.\nConduct mechanical completion inspections, mechanical walkdowns, and quality verification activities.\nEssential Functions:\nServe as the highest-level onsite technical resource for turbine installation and commissioning activities.\nPlan, coordinate, and manage day-to-day work assignments for onsite Vestas technicians.• Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed in accordance with safety, quality, and schedule requirements.• Maintain the ability to perform all technician tasks when project conditions require direct field support.\nEducation, Training, and Skills Required:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nMinimum four (4) years technical wind industry experience, OR six (6) months technical wind industry experience and a certificate of completion from a Wind Technician program, AND in absence of technical wind industry experience, minimum three (3) years’ experience working with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical skills and/or composite skills• Proven Leadership abilities with a strong Technical, Safety and Quality focus.• Demonstrated use and understanding of intermediate level power tools such as hydraulic, power torque and diagnostic tools (e.g. fluke meter functions and hydraulic pressure gauge).\nAbility to demonstrate intermediate working knowledge of industrial safety practices / protocols (e.g. Confined Space, Lock Out Tag Out).\nValid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Passport.\nStrong attention to detail and execution excellence.\nGood interpersonal and customer relation skills.\nAble to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels and ability to respectfully follow supervision and support initiatives.\nProficient computer operation skills, familiarity with internet based program navigation, and ability to generate and interpret computer data. (SAP, Procore, Salesforce, CAD)\nHigh Ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and schematics to validate work activity and ensure that risks are identified and mitigated.
