As part of Digital Solutions, the Compute & Cloud Platforms (CCP) team provides the foundational platforms enabling engineering, simulation, AI, and digital product development at scale.\nWe are now looking for a DevOps Engineer specialized in HPC platforms to help evolve and operate our hybrid compute landscape spanning on-prem HPC clusters and Azure-based scalable compute environments.\nResponsibilities\nAs a DevOps Engineer in the HPC team, you will:\nDevelop and operate HPC platform capabilities\nWork with Linux-based and Windows HPC clusters, schedulers, and storage systems\nSupport hybrid workloads across on-prem data centers and cloud (Azure)\nBuild platform automation and Infrastructure-as-Code\nImplement automation using tools such as Terraform, or similar\nStandardize provisioning, configuration, and scaling of HPC environments\nEnable scalable compute for engineering and AI workloads\nSupport simulation, Agentic workloads and AI/ML workloads requiring high compute capacity\nOptimize performance, cost, and reliability of compute workloads\nContribute to platform architecture and evolution\nDesign and improve HPC and compute platform architecture\nGuide teams on how to effectively use HPC, cloud compute resources and how to modernize their application for better performance.\nCollaborate across teams and domains\nWork closely with platform engineers, simulation engineering, and application teams\nAlign with cloud, network, and security teams on platform integration\nStrengthen DevOps practices in HPC environments\nSupport journey towards modern software architecture such as CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform components\nPromote DevOps mindset in traditional operations-heavy HPC setups\nEnsure we are data driven in what we do\nSupport implementation of data-driven decisions, data for platform usage and resource utilization to enable better decision making.\nContribute to roadmap and capability maturity\nIdentify platform gaps and improvement opportunities\nHelp define the future of compute platforms including AI and advanced workloads\nQualifications\nDegree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field\nExtensive experience working with Linux-based infrastructure and distributed systems\nExperience with HPC environments (e.g., clusters, schedulers like Slurm or similar)\nExperience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, or similar)\nExperience with Azure or other cloud platforms in a DevOps context\nKnowledge about engineering simulation process and tooling is valuable\nProgramming/scripting experience (e.g., Python, Go, Bash)\nExperience with CI/CD, version control (Git), and automation tools (e.g., Ansible)\nFamiliarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)\nCompetencies\nSolid problem-solving mindset with focus on performance and scalability\nAbility to work across cloud and on-premise environments (hybrid mindset)\nCurious and engaged approach to learning and improving platforms\nSolid collaboration and communication skills in a global organization\nAbility to balance stability (operations) and innovation (platform evolution)\nStructured and quality-oriented approach to engineering practices\nWhat We Offer\nOpportunity to shape next-generation HPC and compute/GPU platforms\nExposure to large-scale engineering, simulation and AI workloads\nA central role in enabling Vestas' digital and green energy transformation\nA collaborative and international environment focused on innovation\nMore together than apart RTO policy.\nAdditional information\nThis is a hybrid position based in Porto, Portugal and requires up to 15 days of travel per year.\nWe will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis, therefore, early applications are encouraged.
