As the global leader in wind energy, we design, manufacture, install, and service wind turbines that help create a cleaner and more sustainable future.\nJoin our Windsor Blades Factory, where innovation, quality, and teamwork come together to produce some of the world's most advanced wind turbine blades.\nWhat Does A Quality Engineer Do?\nDrive Manufacturing Quality Excellence\nDevelop, implement, and maintain preventive quality controls including PFMEA, Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), layered audits, and process confirmations.\nMonitor process stability and capability through audits, inspections, and data-driven analysis.\nMaintain and update quality documentation to reflect process changes, risks, and mitigation actions.\nEnsure compliance with Vestas Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and manufacturing standards.\nLead Non-Conformance (NC) Management & Problem Solving\nLead rapid containment activities for internal, supplier, and customer non-conformances to protect product quality and downstream operations.\nGovern Quality Before Delivery (QBD) Level 1 and 2 processes, ensuring proper escalation, documentation, and closure.\nFacilitate root cause investigations using 8D, Six Sigma, 5-Why, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.\nVerify the effectiveness and long-term sustainability of corrective and preventive actions.\nReview and evaluate significant quality issues for escalated technical review and resolution.\nSupport Continuous Improvement\nDrive Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) reduction initiatives through preventive quality strategies and defect elimination.\nLead quality-focused continuous improvement and Kaizen activities.\nPartner with production teams to reinforce standard work, quality practices, and visual management systems.\nAssess training needs and support the development of operators and technicians in key quality areas.\nEnable New Product & Process Readiness\nSupport product qualifications, engineering changes, and new product introductions.\nCollaborate with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and NPI teams to ensure quality readiness for new technologies and manufacturing processes.\nIntegrate and optimize digital quality tools including non-conformance, testing, and traceability systems.\nAnalyze & Communicate Quality Performance\nAnalyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.\nCommunicate quality performance, risks, and recommendations to production teams and leadership.\nPresent findings and improvement plans to cross-functional stakeholders.\nWhat You Will Bring:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.\n5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, process engineering, or a related technical environment.\nStrong knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, Root Cause Analysis (8D, DMAIC, 5-Why)\nExperience analyzing manufacturing and process data using spreadsheets, databases, and analytical tools.\nStrong communication, facilitation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nAbility to influence teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nSix Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.\nLead Auditor certification.\nExperience supporting new product introductions and process qualification activities.\nExperience working within a regulated or ISO-certified manufacturing environment.\n\nWhat you’ll receive:\nWe offer an attractive salary and one of the most comprehensive benefits plans in the industry, including:\nBenefits coverage within your first month\n\nState-of-the-art Training Program\n\nPaid Time Off (PTO)\n\nExcellent 401(k) plan\n\nAnnual bonus\n\nJob Type: Full-time\nCompensation: $78,000 - $110,000 annually\nCCPA Notice for California Applicants\nOur commitment to a fair hiring\nAt Vestas, we evaluate all candidates solely based on their professional experience, education, and relevant skills.
