This is a senior, high visibility position for someone who can own a company's entire cybersecurity program, from policy and regulatory readiness to vendor risk and incident response, and report directly to leadership.\nYour Role:\nAs CISO/VP Data Security, you will supervise all cybersecurity matters across the company in line with cybersecurity laws, industry best practices, and state regulatory rules. You will make sure every part of the cybersecurity program stays current and compliant, choose the right controls for the company's technology and threat environment, and lead the defense strategy behind them. Your day to day will involve:\nPartnering with operations and engineering teams to make sure every solution is built with the right security considerations from the start.\nProviding strategic cybersecurity guidance and shaping major business decisions through a security lens.\nServing as the main point of contact with regulators during audits and throughout the year for all cybersecurity matters.\nReviewing and approving cybersecurity policies, procedures, and written supervisory procedures.\nContinuously identifying and documenting asset vulnerabilities and internal and external threats, and auditing critical security and continuity practices.\nLeading the selection, implementation, and monitoring of cybersecurity controls across the company's systems, including communications, physical offices, encryption, and remote customer access.\nDriving adherence to cybersecurity measures and standards across the organization.\nReviewing the cybersecurity policy every year, updating it as needed, and keeping a clear record of every review, action taken, system analyzed, and report produced.\nOverseeing risk from third party vendors and system dependencies.\nReporting regularly to leadership on the health and status of the cybersecurity program.\nWhat You’ll Need:\n10 or more years of experience in cybersecurity, including direct ownership of a security program.\nA bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.\nExtensive experience working with security, DevOps, and incident response teams.\nExperience working in a highly regulated industry and working directly with regulators.\nDirect to consumer experience preferred.\nFamiliarity with AWS or other cloud systems.\nFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container based systems.\nProficiency in Python, Golang, or a similar dynamic programming language.\nExperience with data warehousing and data analysis.\nComfort and proficiency using AI tools to support research, reporting, and daily productivity is a strong plus.\nBonus: basic knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain\nBonus: genuine passion for fintech and cryptocurrency.\nTo be considered for this role, you must currently be based in Latin America (LATAM) or Europe.\nWhat We Offer:\n $90,000 to $100,000 USD per year, based on experience.\n Unlimited paid vacation days per year, plus all U.S. national holidays.\n 100% remote, work from anywhere in LATAM or Europe with a professional home setup.\n A high visibility leadership role where your expertise directly shapes how a fast growing fintech and cryptocurrency company protects its business and its customers.\n A collaborative, high trust culture through Veta Virtual and our client, where your judgment and expertise are valued from day one.\nReady to Apply?\nIf you are ready to own a cybersecurity program end to end and work directly with leadership and regulators, apply now and launch your next chapter with Veta Virtual.\nOnce you apply, you will be invited to complete a short two minute video question as part of our screening process.
